| Help ! I'm having a problem which I find hard to believe is related to
sparks plugs buy hey, it could happen. Recently I thought I was
feeling a missfire and decided to pull the plugs to check out the
situation. I figured I throw in a new set since I'd be yanking the old
ones out to take a peek but the parts store didn't have "exactly" what
I wanted. I had been running Bosh tri-electode in the correct heat
range recommended for this car (86 Audi 4000 CS Q). The parts store
only had the same plug in a platinum. Ok, no big deal, I'll take them.
At first I couldn't get the car to idle. The ECM couldn't find a
suitable rpm to run at and the thing cycled from fast idle to slow
idle for quite a while. I expected that the computer would have to
figure out where it wants to be so I took it for a ride. What really
has me baffled is how HOT it's running ! Maybe 30% on the gauge. Its
so hot that the thermostatically controlled cooling fan is on all the
time ! I checked the gaps before I put them in. Never changed timing.
Went back and made sure I didn't accidently unplug any vacuum hoses.
This morning on the way in it ran smooth, maybe a little more seat of
the pants power but still WICKED HOT ! WTF?
The plats were pretty steep $ too. I'm hoping I can get my money
back...
