Can anyone comment on the 96 Legacy AWD sedan...I know that consumer
reportrates them as a reccomended buy.
Do these cars have stainless steel exhaust ?

| I will be doing pads and rotors on a 1988 Subaru this weekend. Is there
anything I should know that is different from an american car?
Also, as the parking brake is on the front, I understand that there is
a ratcheting mechanism on it that must be reset to install the new
pads. How does one do this?

| You have to turn the caliper piston "back in". If I remember correctly,
it goes in clockwise. You need a piston turning tool. I have a Ford
tool that I've used on Subes, Acura's, Ford's, etc.

| It's a large slot, so a socket drive won't work on Subarus. My
experience is that the pistons don't turn very easily; you're pushing
fluid back, and there's the friction of the rubber seals and boot.

crossways in a pair of vicegrips to make a wide screwdriver.

| My s-i-l just bought a 1997 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport and she wants me
to install some fog lights. Has anyone poked around under the front bumper
of one of these? Is it all plastic or is there some metal to bolt the
lights through?
