| Lurking in Colorado! I've been quiet lately because my building time
has been cut into by a PC box. Since Mom DEC has pointed out that I'd
better learn it, and the news from "out there" says that I'd better
learn it, I've been learning it. Trouble with the machine is that as
soon as you get the gist of one toy, another comes along that demands
attention too.
Not even to mention all the book learning I've had to do just to stay
competitive in the business.
Poor old shop still has the same projects as last year...and some from
the year before. I even have a wing that I stripped down for repair at
Halloween still sitting on the bench. Well no, it isn't sitting on the
bench, since I've been doing some indoor stuff and that's taken over
the bench surface.
I was counting the projects last nite and there are 5, count 'em 5
kits or scratch builds waiting patiently for attention.
I still am an active flyer when the weather on Sunday morning allows
me to, truckin' the old PT40 around the pattern, and I'm still active
in the club. I'll get back to it again, soon or later.

I was out flying in the BARCS Postal yesterday but the best I could
muster was 4.30 in a cold 20 Knot Northerly. Ummm.. it makes me envious
of the moulded machines.
Up on the slope (Butser Hill) they were running the first Open F3F

29 entrants took part and I'm sure we'll be hearing about several sub

| Paul,
I have no idea what you're doing wrong. (right) I go for many
sessions without breaking a prop then I'll go through 2 or 3 in as many
flights. It's all a function of what you're landing on and how your
prop stops. Also what kind you use. Master Airscrew and Graupner
props are much harder to break than wood or APC. I use APC props
because they seem to work best but they break more like wood props.
THey are pretty thin and brittle.
Keep Having Good luck and Happy Gremlinizing!

last year or so. I sure hope I can do more this summer, but I've
got so many irons in the fire, where's the time? Now in Littleton,
It's a long way from the lunchtime flyers. Maybe some evenings and
weekends real soon.
Guess it's time to dust off the flight box, find out which batteries
are still good, and find a plane to fly. I'm Gremlin-less, having had
my one and only original war machine center punched last summer (don't
remember who got me, I'm losing it in my old age - was it you again,
Charlie?). I got 2 Grem-wings started a year ago, and my Ultra-Sport
is still 1/3 build, but I still have the trusty old Sportster 20.
See you all some time.

Until this year I was a member of the Flying Tigers in Derry. Having
moved to Groton MA in October I'm clubless but I'm getting the itch

Best I can pick out there is a glider field in Groton (where) and a

| The Acton field is not a club field and is just an informal gathering of the
local DECcies. We've been asked/warned to stick to the soccer field and stay off
the alfalfa. We've also heard that power use is greatly discouraged. not too far
down 495 to Westboro for CMRCM...

| Yes the 495th is still active. They have 3 fields.
One in Groton, one in Tewksbury, and one in Westford.
Call or go to Tom's Hobby Korner to find out when the
next meeting is and get directions to the fields.
None are great glider fields but I'm sure they will tolerate
an occasional hi-start.

| Relatively new to Digital...going into my third year in exactly 7 hours
and 30 minutes. Mostly read, I actually only discovered this conference
in the last month. I have lotsa projects, most of which are well out
of my league. Hope one day to get involved with 1/4 scale..but for now
I'll jes keep learnin. I'm presently on my first low wing intermediate
after low rolling my last high wing into total submission...won't do
that again. Up here in Calgary, Alberta, we get a long building season
followed by a rather short ideal flying season. Lotsa time to get
rusty...probably explains why I'm on my third trainer.....
So long for now
Rod ( if anyone tells you that its just not possible to fly a high wing
with plenty of diheadral, in a low level inverted pass....well
you just tell them that I did it....lasted almost 3 full
seconds...).

| Well it looks as if I will not finish this roll-call. The word is that
I, and my whole team, get the proverbial "Tap" on Monday 1st Aug 1994.
It was a great run while it lasted. DECRCM, super flying buddies,
amazing notes wars and many advances to my hobby that would not have
occured if I had not joined DEC. The pattern progress, the Gremlins and
Goblins, the UNIC's and Panic's, None of this would have happened if I
had not been a Deccie for the last 8 years.
It is not a time to be sad. The tension is over, AMEN! Now it is time
to go and find a new job and hope that I don't run out of money or
practice fuel too quickly :-)
Good luck to those of you who are still here.
