* Yeah, right, Kay...just what I needed. ;b^}
>So how come you didn't bring that "Hanger Queen" MiG out for the Fun Fly?
* I _did_ bring it out...I just only flew if Friday in practice. 'Sides,
if 200+ flights on a scale ship qualifies as a "Hangar Queen," then
_ALL_ yer' planes must be HQ's since none have even approached that
number!
>So how are things going out at the NOD (No Output Division)?
* Hey! Unlike "some" people I know, I deal in quality, not quantity.
>Not only should the president of the Scale Committee be a born American -
>They should not allow models of foreign planes in competition (especially
>Russian planes)!
* I've just sent in a rules proposal eliminating non-descript biplanes
with designations starting with BJ and any/all entries by people with
the initials K.F. Since Dave Platt is a personal friend, I'm confident
the proposal will pass!

Hey Al,
Can I borrow this line? It seems to fit my building regimen
perfectly! But I do have to admit, I might build slow (5 1/2 planes
built in 5 years), but at least I do get *some* quantity. 8^)

a dragster compared to someone else we know. Ya Al you. The only guy
who lives in the perfect climate only to not find any time to build.

It's possible that a few people in this file could use a little more practise
but....
I notice that with over 200 flights on the MIG, the only 'flight' Al got in
at the fly-in was a "practise" flight. Heck, at 200 flights most people would
of figured out how to fly that thing by now. 8^)

Article 4172
From: [email protected] (Jeff Capehart)
Newsgroups: rec.models.rc,alt.rush-limbaugh
Subject: R/C plane w/mouse
Date: 21 Mar 91 20:52:34 GMT
Sender: [email protected]
Organization: UF CIS Dept.
Earlier this week on the Rush Limbaugh talk show program, Rush did
an animal-rights update about a guy in southern California who has
the SPCA on his case for "cruelty to animals."
Apparently, this person modified his radio-controlled airplane with
a special clear-canopy cockpit that seats one mouse. He loads up
a mouse and then flies the plane over a scenic route. He says the
mice enjoy it and that they don't run away after the flights.
I think this article was in one of the newspapers in the area in
S. California maybe in the March 18th edition. Anyone have anymore
details on this? Does anyone else fly with live animals? Was
this a powered plane or a sailplane?

| Arrrrrrrrrgh! My secret's out...and responding to Dan'l's accusation,
it can now be told that the practice flights aren't for _my_ benefit
but for that of "the rat!"
But seriously folks, it's clear that .-1 is merely another of Kay's
fabrications; there can't possibly be anyone actually named Rush
Limbaugh!

| Maybe he needs the practice flights to figure out what/where all them
switches are on his fancy-smancy Tx?
Along this line, there was a funny occurance yesterday when Kay let
Dave Walter fly his Chup. Kay hands Dave the Tx and Dave's first
question is, "Which switches should I make sure I avoid?" (this was due
to the Vision having so many switches and Dave's memory of trying to
find the trims on a previous days flying. Kay said that they were all
disabled except the one on the top (that Dave had just moved with his
palm taking the Tx). Always interesting to try to find the correct
protuberance on an unfamiliar Tx with a 2ch plane after hand launching
it at a 45 degree angle with no engine!

Truth be known Al Casey is just his stage name. Actually he was born
Rush Limbaugh - first son of Orville and Wilma Limbaugh in Apache Junction,
Arizona.
He was forced to accept a stage name before being admitted to the
D&D band because they didn't want a Rush :-)

| well, this looks like fun.
al, when you were test-flying the guy's citabria, can you more carefully
describe the sound generated upon impact. i mean, whas it just a simple
WHUMP! or was it more of the prolonged scrapping sound that comes with
asphalt. how big was the debris spread about. did pieces fly in all
directions? is there a dent in the asphalt? more details please.
everyone, did you know that al finally has an official rc sponser. no its
not zap or os or even futaba. its coors.
al, i will learn to type with upper case as soon as you finish building another
scale ship.
al has a new technique for weathering a scale ship. just keep dragging the
same hangar queen to contests each year, and eventually...
i always crack up when al talks about watching tv in his underwear. if you've
ever seen al then you already know it can't be a pretty sight.
al always kids about how chuckie c likes his planes fast. but the speed of his
mig is more like a mig 28 than a 3.
anybody else ever see al's d&d band. a strange blend of roy orbison and
zamfir. bob frey definately carries the rest...
few people know that al has a half-brother named norm goyer.
al, i got an idea of what you can do for a living after dec. around here
there is this old geeser who calls himself "alex the builder". for a nominal
fee he will build your airplane for you. what do you think? i want a baker
p38 and i need it for june 28. thats 3 months, think you can handle it?
al clear-cotes all his scale aircraft. thats so the paint aint ruined every
time his retract/hydralok system blows out.
al has a russian coin glued to the front of the documentation book for his
beloved "highly modified" "scratch-built" mig-3. from trial and errors he's
learned judges are more impressed by an american $20 bill paperclipped to the
3-view.
al had trouble getting the color right on his mig-3. so he painted his own
color chips and, presto, a perfect match. now everybody's doing it.
few people know that al, part-time and between other scale building projects,
is building a new masters contest quality ship. his dream plane, its a yellow
piper cub and al is anxious to check out the rudder/aileron coupling feature
of his new f* radio.
seriously, good bye al. you've been my scale mentor for 4 years now and have
become a permanent friend. <insert mush here> worst case is i won't see you
till next march in phoenix. best case you will be kicking my butt in at the
masters in vegas!
kevin
ps consider a trip to new england once your work situation is again settled.
airfare is now cheap, about 20 of us would fight over you as a house guest, and
i need a backup pit lizard.
