    Didn't see this mentioned anywhere else, so I'll ask here.

    I have a 96 Voyager (short version) 6 cyl. automatic. When taking off
    from a stop, there is a clunk that comes from the rear someplace. I've
    removed everything from the van, so I know it's not something I'm
    carrying.

    I havn't really persued it, but a friend that has a 96 grand voyager
    has the same problem and has been to the dealer several times. They've
    acknowledged the clunk is there, but have looked all over, replaced
    shocks, etc. and can't find what's making the noise.

    Anyone have a clue what's making this noise????
229.83fuel tank?TEKVAX::KOPECTom Kopec W1PFFri Mar 28 1997 13:307
    I seem to remember reading something in a newsgroup about the fuel tank
    mounting causing this kind of noise..

    dig around in rec.auto.makers.chrysler and see if it hasn't aged off..

The exhaust pipe donut is a common cause of clunks ... even though
it is up front, the movement of the exhaust system from the donut
can cause clunks and squeaks.

229.85Maybe something simple like....ZEKE::ASCHNEIDERAndy Schneider - DTN 381-1696Fri Apr 04 1997 10:366
    Also check the spare tire. Our 93 had clunking sounds
    from the rear and found that the tire had loosened up a bit.
    A quick crank of the holding cable to tighten it up and the
    sound went away.
