    Well, this is it.
    
    My last day at Digital (for the moment anyway!).
    
    If someone said, what will you miss most the answer would have to be 
    CARS_UK!!!! :^) (I expect some of you have already noticed that!)
    
    I've looked forward to crossing swords and exchanging ideas with all
    of you and thank anyone who's given me advice once again.
    
    So long and thanks for (no, not the fish!) your conversation.

    Well, its my last day with DEC tomorrow, so no more noting! I'm leaving
    Digital to join the Rover Group, at their Advanced Technology Centre in
    Warwick. The car scheme is OK (you can have two) but the choice is
    fairly limited.
    
    I'm STILL waiting for the 7 to be inspected, its only been 7 weeks
    now!!

As this is my last week with Digital, it's time to say goodbye to all the 
CARS_UK readers and contributors. Like many others who've been rightsized, I'm
off to do a bit of the old contracting (I hope), so you never know I may be
back with the odd two pennorth in 6 months time. In which case I can give you
an update on the first season's sprinting and hillclimbing in the Westfield.

If anyone wants to buy me a drink, I'll be in the Row Barge at Woolhampton this
Wednesday lunchtime.

I too am leaving tomorrow with Dick and off to join the grey depths of the
recession and unemployed.

But I am hopeful for a contract or two to come forth from the pay chest of the
great provider!

In the meantime all the best to all noters, to all whom I worked and
drunk with.

    13 years of service ends on 31st July, folks, hence the "market
    research" for one opportunity that has taken my eye. The other is a bead
    blasting service for components up to engine block size. Any interest
    in that as a service?
    
    I've regarded this conference as the major source of information on
    matters pertaining to the automobile and hope that I've been able to
    contribute in some way, too. It's also been a pretty good source of
    entertainment.... ;-))
    
    I've noted the names of those that expressed an interest in the
    workshop idea, any body interested in the second idea should drop me
    mail with a 'phone number that I can contact them on later.

    Right thats it.........my time in Digital is over (well I'm here till
    Friday actually but I wanted to get this over and done with).
    
    After a stunning year and three months in DEC I am off back to
    Portsmouth POLY (not Uni) to complete my four year Computer Science
    course (interesting eh ??).
    
    I have really enjoyed reading all the notes/discussions/arguements and
    have learnt a lot about cars from all you knowledgable people out there
    !!
    
    Good luck to you all in whatever line of work you are in and remember
    to keep yer gearstick free from dirt (if you see what I mean).

	If so that means Finals just after Xmas, well for me

	Bazz about 'spitty' I take it thats a spitfire [re. go on].
	I used to covet one o' those, then it was:

	Honda Civic (one very carefree owner - let me drive it)
	Renault 5 GT Turbo (who didn't)
	Citr�en AX GT (after I got the ins. quote for the R5
	Renault 5 GT Turbo (again....I found a cheaper quote)
	Suzuki Swift GTi Twin Cam 16V (the new shape..oh yes oh yes)
	
 	but I ended up with AXminster but not the GT of that ilk :-(

Well in that case...

	Does anyone else rate the Series 3 BMW  ?
	They're brilliant.
	The fastest, most comfortable, option-packed motor I've ever driven,
	and to cap it all the road-holding is phenominal ! Messy stuff on 
	the picnic blanket is nothing in comparison to the way this little
	beauty sticks to the tarmac. Wow !


	Sorry, couldn't resist it. Sorry to see you leaving - UK-cars will be a
	quieter place without you.

    My project was canned last week and I've got something else to go to,
    so I'm off at the end of the day.
    
    Watch out for my green Marcos and hoot and wave if you see one (I've
    never seen another one which is green, so it'll probably be me).

    Well, I'm out a here at the end of today. I've enjoyed reading this
    conference. It's taught me a lot and it's been a laugh. I've been read
    only for much of the time so even though most of you don't know me I
    want to wish you all the very best of luck (I think you're going to need
    it).

I'm also out at the end of the week, after nearly nine years. I was upset at
first, but have found that life outside isn't nearly as hard as it is
rumoured to be, if you have good technical skills.

I'm actually very pleased about it now - I have a good payoff (which starts
to make up for three years of no pay rises!), and a choice of two
better jobs.

I'm going to miss the people, and the network, and the notes conferences.

I'm not going to miss the management (or rather the mis-management!)

Good luck to those who are leaving, and good luck to those left behind.

Right, it's my turn now... all those people who like putting notes in the 
wrong place will be relieved to know that I'm off!  I've handed in my 
resignation, although I may still be here for up to 3 months yet.  But, 
anyway, this conference is one of the (admittedly few) things that I'll miss 
about Digital.

Thanks to Royston for inviting me to help moderate the conference (although 
what possessed him to ask me of all people I'll never know! :), and to Ol' 
Bugger Lozzer for also helping to keep an eye on it.  Thanks also to the 
multitude of people who have contributed here, and made it a lively and 
informative forum to participate in!

Beware, though, I'm not gone yet, so just you dare try creating a basenote 
without doing a DIRECTORY/TITLE beforehand...
