    how do you think of the musics from the episodes ?
    
    I came across a CD on the Inspector Morse' soundtracks. 
    
    As I have not watched a single episode before, but I am a sountrack
    collector, I wonder whether the music from the series are worth
    collecting. please advise.

    Steve, how about introducing yourself as you are obviously not from
    these shores if you've never seen Morse.

        Morse is a detective series, set in Oxford England, and based on
        the character created in the Colin Dexter series of novels. The
        eponymous character is a detective with a love of classical music,
        especially Opera.

        The sound-track is written by Barrington Phelong, and tries to
        portray the mood of each show using a 'light classical' sound. Also
	the theme music apparently spells out the name M O R S E in morse code
	using quavers and semi quavers as dots and dashes, although I've never
	checked this out myself. The composer also gives 'hints' to the 
	audience as to the culprit in each particular episode, again by the 
	use of morse code, or maybe by writing the piece in the key of 'E'
	if the culprit is called Elizabeth, for example.

	To my ears it's a superior sound-track, but then I may be biased
	because it's a superior programme. However, there are many, many worse
	sound-tracks available.

    
    I am residing in HongKong, for the British detective programs, the only
    one I am familiar and I am very fond of is the Avengers.
    
    well, I guess I have missed out a lot of MORSE but the VHS videos are
    available for sale here.
