Here in Ireland most people tune Mandolas/Mandolins/Bozukis
the same as a fiddle , E A D G. I've noticed other tunings in use
but dont know exactly what they are.
If you are having severe problems getting an instruction book mail
me and I'll take a look around Galway for one.
rgds,
Maurice.

I had the occasion to call them a couple of months back re. the
availability of an old Hollies album (on behalf of a DECperson in
Oz, I hasten to add!), and they were very helpful. In fact, I'm
pretty sure that you'll be able to buy the Family LPs from them

Failing that, I'd imagine that you could order the ones you want
from any decent record emporium. ;-)

I have been vigorously looking for an album (or copy of) by a folk
musician called Fred Wedlock. I have tried various record shops
and each one has said that they will order it. A week later they
then say that it is unobtainable.
The Album name escapes me but it has a picture of Fred and his
MKII Cortina in the sleeve.
Has anyone in DECland got this ? I really only want a copy and
I am willing to either supply an audio tape, refund the cost of
recording or purchase said album

Want a copy of PIL Metal Box? Well, I have just such a thing - 197?, one of
the original 50,000 :-) - "drive to the forest in a Japanese car" 'n all that?
I bought it after meeting John Lydon at the Marquee - he was really
interesting to talk to. Personally don't find his music talks to me, so its
yours - haven't even played one of the three disks, so it is in good condition.
Nice stout container - metal box of course, so it should survive
the post. One problem - I work in Switzerland so it may be best to send it
by regular mail.

Large-format (near-LP size) hardback book - 252 pages incl. dozens and

Foreword by Berry Gordy ; Introduction by Elvis Mitchell ; History by
Ben-Fong Torres ; Discography by Dave Marsh.
For the die-hard Motown fan, this is an indispensable tome, and one
which is (I think) a U.K.-only publication. I have a spare, unused
copy which I'd ideally like to SWAP (as opposed to sell) ... 'most
anything to do with music considered!!
If no trade offers are forthcoming, I'll sell for fifteen quid (list

was called "JOCKS" before and is a monthly mag. Would there be a

DJ is not sold in Holland and yes,I had trouble with their subscription

Mail me personally if you will(see above)?

| Re. The last couple.
Well for those that may be looking for something similar in the future we
ended up in a truly remarkable establishment on Sat night, The Intrepid
Fox in Wardour St. It didn't have any live music but the recorded stuff
certainly fit the bill on the content and volume front. And as to the
inhabitants of the said establishment - what can I say but wicked,
evil, well 'ard!!! Its the only place I've been to where people were
bounced for being over dressed.
It certainly comes highly recommended from this source - but be
warned - maybe you should see the state of me before you venture in!
Cheers,
Spike.

| On the strength of his latest CD "Strange Cargo III" I'm after William Orbit's
"Strange Cargo" and "Strange Cargo II".
In both HMV Manchester and HMV Warrington, they have a William Orbit section,
but in both shops, the sections are empty. I suppose I could order them, but
just thought I'd ask if anybody had seen them. I've got a feeling Strange Cargo
(one) may have been deleted.
I'm also after any WO singles, especially on CD (other than "Water From A Vine
Leaf")
Cheers

I'm looking for any UB40 memorabilia from overseas. Albums, singles,
tour books, videos (VHS). I'm especially looking for any singles with
picture sleeves.
If anyone has these and are willing to sell them please let me know.
Also if you know of any shops that I could write to for inquiries
that would be of great help.
Any help is MOST appreciated.
Thanks

FOR SALE : JBL L19 Speakers (1 pair)
These are stand mounted speakers (hifi), approx dimensions 21" x 13" x
9". Probably about 12 years old now, but look like new and are in
perfect condition aurally. Like most JBL speakers they are very
efficient but can take high power amplifiers so are very flexible to
what drives them. The enclosures themselves contain 2 speaker units.
If anyone's interested then let me know and we can talk about price
(they cost me 200 pounds new). Available in Reading area from
September.
