    The JR X347 radio with Fm receiver and four servos is typically under
    $400 in the USA.  The PCM version is typically around $440.

    Keep in mind that the USA systems are on 72mhz (aren't the European
    systems on 35mhz) so the Rx might not be usable over there.
    
    FM with 4 507 servos $330 PCM is about $50 more at several New England
    hobby stores.

    You are right, the UK frequency is 35MHz - perhaps I can't save any
    money after all - oh well perhaps a standard 6 channel Futaba will have
    to do - unless a 72 to 35 MHz conversion is easy............(surely
    it's not as simple as swapping the internal crystals) .

    Don't count the X347 out too quickly. I see no reason why you couldn't
    order it in 35 mgz. Unless they have what your looking for "instock",
    the mail order places have to order from JR anyway.

    I think a call to Hobby Dynamics is in order.  Tell them you're
    relocation to the Uk for six months and wish to keep up your flying.
    
    Hence the need fot the radio on 35mhz.  I'd think they can accomedate
    you or how else do the US teams fly over seas?

    There was a note in here about a month ago about someone relocating to
    Germany. He was looking to do the same thing. I believe the Tx is the
    same but the RF module (which plugs in the back) needed to be swapped
    (and a new Rx). The only problem dealing directly with the
    manufacturer/distributor (Hobby Dynamics) is that you might end up
    paying list price./ The prices we've been quoting are pretty heavily
    discounted.

    
      Its probably worth checking with a couple of local hobby shops. If
    they can order them, I am sure they would love to sell you one. I tried
    calling Hobbies Plus in NH today, but they are closed Mondays. I can
    try again tommorrow.
      Time from order to receipt is usally about a week.

    I helped Chad Leigh to get his US X-347 converted to German frequency
    (35 MHz). He got a new (GRAUPNER mc-18) TX module and receiver here,
    and the system is running fine. He sold the US module and RX to another
    DEC modeller (Randy Cohen).
    
    If you look 2 notes back, in 1397.2 Steve (SNAX::)Smith said he got the
    money to buy a 347 module and RX on a NATS frequency. Maybe you can
    make something up with him, sell him the parts from your set and get
    module and receiver from JR or GRAUPNER in the UK?

	Yes, my X347 works fine with the 35mhz pack I got whjen
	I got here.  Came to be a lot cheaper than the German version would 
	have been.  I tried to see if I could order a 35mhz
	one in the US but was told that they can't that they can't sell non 
	FCC stuff ???  Maybe you have better luck yourself!

    use a second hand Futaba Rx with Futaba Servos.  The whole pack would
    then be about �240.

Compatibility warning.

JR FM Transmitters will not talk to Futaba FM Receivers.
I haven't went back in the notes to be sure that is what you were doing
but if it is think it over again.

    Thanks for the warnings about JR Tx and Futaba Rx combinations not
    working together.
    I'll look into the possibility of swapping the 72Mhz Tx module for a
    35MHz one - is this a daughter board inside the Tx case ? 
    I will see if the UK model shops understand what I'm trying to do - my
    guess is that they won't be interested as they will want to sell a
    whole new Tx.

The TX module is a plug in module that plugs into the
back of the tx housing.  It is made to be unplugged 
and plugged in.  Here in Germany the stores all have
or are willing to easily get the TX module and rx 
separately.  Also, the X347 tx module is the same one 
in the MC18 (and mC20 I think) from Graupner/JR.  You
could get a 35 mhz module from Germany ?

You buy the US radio, try to sell the tx to get some
$ back and then get a local/german module.

    ANyone interested in a RX and RF module swap... I have RF modules and
    RX's on channel 16 and 54 for JR 347's.  I'm interested in channel
    24,27,30,35,41.  I need one of these for pattern at the nats.
