This was from this morning, so I can remember back that far. It was

a reproduction of Judy Garland's red slipper from the Wizard or Oz.

| Listen out for good ol' Rick Wakeman!
He was on 2 weeks ago discussing the Mellotron and today he was
recounting some stuff that happened when all didn't go to plan during a
gig!!
He told the story of when he was appearing in concert and the complete
power supply disappeared. He then went on-stage and told jokes for an
hour....only to be told by his manager that the power was restored
after only 3 minutes!!!
Wakeman and Baker are great in conversation and I eagerly await the
"Topographic Oceans" story which is due shortly.

Although Danny is away for a couple of weeks, Chris Morris is sitting

I used to enjoy listening to Chris Morris , but apparently Victor
Lewis-Smith feels that Chris Morris has ripped him off. They don't
enjoy the best of friendships.
Lewis-Smith said "Immitation is the sincerest form of someone being

I always thought that the Moog was named after its inventor, a
Professor (Doctor ?) Moog.
Rick Wakeman's last phone call to the show was good. He described how
he once ordered a curry while on stage with Yes, during a bit of the
show that he didn't have much to do in. The rest of the band were not
pleased...
Also, the album "Tales from Topographic Oceans" was recorded just when
the vogue for using recording studios based in country houses was
starting. For some unexplained reason, Yes used a studio in London
instead, but filled it up with agricultural items, so the keyboards
were all sitting on straw bales, and they had cardboard cutout cows all
over the place. Rock Stars, eh?
R.W. also plays the keyboard part on Clive Dunn's "Grandad".

Anyway, another little gem of information that came to light...do you
know which other well known rock person turned down the rle that
Peter Tork eventually took on...it was Steve Stills (T'was ever so, as
DB might say..). Anyway, the reason for turning it down was becuase his

One of the reasons Baker left 606 was that he felt he was becoming

Pity that because, aside from his wit, his irreverant treatment of

Further down the rat-hole I will say that the only person who's

Roger Waters

Syd Barratt

Did anyone get this?
The answer is Syd Barratt. The other three all played on a song called
"Wish you were here" (from an album of the same name). The song was
about Syd, but by then he had left the band to eat endless
quantities of pork chops.
Stephan Grapelli plays his violin right at the very end, and you have

Okay the full question is...what is the connection between David Bowie,
Neil Diamond, Victor Borge and Martin Scorcese.
At 07:45 this morning the answer was still unknown; however, at least

of Martin Scorcese.....cue screams of anguish!

| It was still going at 8:30. Two people have now said "they
all have different coloured eyes", which is not the right answer.
David Bowie has different coloured eyes because while at school
he was hit so hard by the school bully that one of his eyes changed
colour from blue to brown. Neil Diamond, Victor Borge and Martin
Scorcese weren't!
This has been going for three days now, and DB says that the answer
is staring you in the face (which probably means it will be something
mundane).

A lot of the stuff that he's done on the morning show had also been
done on GLR. I think what happens is that he has a little reminisce

Well it's a way of sending a letter electronically, you can
just send it down the phone line and it comes out on their
machine. But you have to have a fax at your end too, that's
the deal.

Radio 1 gets a new Controller in November, and the general supposition
is that he will get rid of some of the older faces (voices). The new
guy was responsible for sacking Tony Blackburn at a previous station,
perhaps DLT saw the writing on the wall. However, this new guy was also
responsible for getting Danny Baker on GLR, so there might be some
chance of DB going to Radio 1... He's got a new late night TV series
coming up too.

The series starts Saturday September 18th. There are two seperate
chances of seeing DB as a chatshow host tonight. If you can't
make it Television Centre for the second pilot show, you can see
him in "Frank Stubbs Presents" on ITV.
He goes to Radio 1 on December 19th when Radio 5 closes.
