Conference wraflc::plastic_scale_modeling

    Anyone know where I can find an old model or kit of a bicycle?
    I collect vintage bicycles and would love to find some models.
    The only bicycle model I've ever seen was a plastic kit of the Schwinn
    Orange Krate.
    
    Any leads or info would be appreciated!

While it's not the largest kit in the world, Tamiya has a 1/35
scale offering.  Its marketed as a German WW2 solier with bicycle.
Kit number 94005. The kit is packaged in blister-pack, not a box.

I forget the maker, but there is a series of 4 old motorcycles in light brown
boxes.  They include an early H-D and a Henderson, but I can't recall what the
other two are.  I've built the Henderson for my great-uncle when he was 94
or so - he's now 98.  I have a picture of him from 1917 or so on a 1915
Henderson.

I've thought about the same thing. I've read that welder's supply companies are
a place to start. I've also read about the use of tanks of nitrogen for the
same purpose; these may have to be rented (long term); I'm not sure.

You might want to start by checking with your local bottled gas company.
They should be able to sell you co2.  Don't forget you'll also need a
regulator (with a decent gauge) and perhaps a moisture trap.  Then there's
the fittings: you'll need to mate the system to your airbrush hose.

Kalmbach, the folks to publish FSM, have a couple of books on airbrush and
painting.  I think one of them talks about the setup you'd need.

    The regulator is the hard part. I don't think you would need a 
    moisture trap if you used CO2 or nitrogen; moisture is a problem
    if you compress plain old atmospheric air. (I thought you wanted
    a CO2 tank to use as an AIR reservoir, in which case you could
    use an air regulator.)
    
    Matching the various threads, genders, and diameters of fittings
    can be a drag since gas plumbing is often engineered to prevent
    unsafe hookups, mixing incompatible gases, high vs. low pressures,
    compressor oil vapor and oxygen, etc.

	Another source of tanks is at the local car air conditioner 
place. Used freon tanks or whatever it is they're using these days 
should work. I have one in my compressor set up as a holding tank. I 
mounted it upside down so moisture would pass and not collect in the 
bottom of the tank. Also have two moisture traps in the system as the 
run is a bit far from tank to air brush.

	If you can't locate a tank locally let me know off line and 
I'll see if I can conjure one from my mechamic for you.
