1586.0. "Al Casey Update wanted" by UNYEM::BLUMJ () Wed Mar 02 1994 09:38

    Does anyone know if Al Casey is still competing is scale contests?

    The annoying tendency of the magazine articles to only list the
    top 10 finishers doesn't let you know who is competing in the
    events.

                                                  Regards,

                                                  Jim

    He is still campaigning with his MIG-3. But he doesn't enter many
    comps. He is working in a Hobby shop in Phoenix, AZ.

    Eric,

    Would you have an address for the hobby shop? My planned trip to the
    States later this year may take in AZ (my uncle's buried there), and I
    thought it might be great to drop in and see one of the great men of
    the Easynet in the flesh! 8^)

    Long shot, but y'never know!

    That (as they say) will do nicely!

    Our holiday this year will be in Sunny CA (it'd better be sunny!), but
    we haven't worked out the flight details yet. Maybe we should stage via
    Boston or somewehere, and see if anyone's up for a beer?

1586.5Visit Torrey PinesUNYEM::BLUMJWed Mar 02 1994 11:3310
    Nigel,

         If you make it to the San Diego area, they do slope soaring
    over the ocean on the cliffs of Torrey Pines National Park.
    The adjacent nude sunbathing is a viable distraction if the
    wind is not up.

    Regards,

    Jim
1586.6Nude soaring! F3Z ?BAHTAT::EATON_NPersonal Name Removed to Save CostsWed Mar 02 1994 11:5210

    OK, I'll try it! (The soaring that is!) 8^)

    We'll be staying in Fallbrook, which is just north of San Diego, but
    we're planning on quite a bit of touring around this time.

    Thanks

    Nigel

1586.7After that looooong flight, you need a stopSNAX::SMITHI FEEL THE NEEDWed Mar 02 1994 12:486
    Nigel,

    	If you can make a stop in Boston, there are plenty of us that would
    enjoy a couple or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or.......beers. 8^)

    Thanks Eric,

    My trip isn't until later in the year (probably September), and it's
    all in the planning stage right now.

    If I manage a stop in Mass I'll drop a note in the conference.

    Cheers
