| Enya verses OS......Hmmmmm how relegious are you????????
I've had an Enya 60 TVG8 2 stroke engine. It was a fine engine. Never
missed a beat, had plenty of power and survived 3 "impact" tests.
I'm also now running an OS61 long stroke and it runs great. No
shortage of power (its on my pattern plane), and totally reliable.
If "I" had to choose between the two, I'd pick the OS even though
it costs more. If money is really tight, I wouldn't hesitate to
buy another Enya.

1469.2 | No problem with Enya | STOHUB::JETRGR::EATON | Dan Eaton St.Louis,MO,USA, 445-6522 | Tue Nov 03 1992 13:26 | 3 |
| I started out eith an Enya 45CX five or six years ago. Although the rest of my
engines are OS, I'd have no problem buying another Enya. The OS engines were
chosen to match a particular application. The Enya is still running just fine.

| I own three OS 2 cycle engines and one Enya. I like them all equally
well. I would put up my Enya 40 BB SS against _any_ other ball bearing
40 on the market, and it would acquit itself very well. You won't go
wrong with either one, IMO. Price will determine the choice.

1469.5 | Engine of choice? | SALEM::DEAN | | Thu Nov 05 1992 15:35 | 4 |
| Interesting responce. As much as people like the Enya engines the OS
engine seems to be the one of choice. Even though the Enya may be a
little less money. I wonder why?

| I flew Enyas and Webras 15 years ago and they were a very durable, inexpensive
(didn't say cheap) beater engine. They did very well considering I did more
than my share of figure nines in C/L Stunt and combat. OS is a very reliable
engine and has the reputation for coming out of the box all set up and ready
to run. People don't twiddle carbs very successfully and the OS one runs right
out of the box. I don't have any experience with the Enya carbs.

| BINGO! re:1469.6 hit the nail on the head. NOISE LEVEL. Thats the
exactly the information I need to know. I would hate to spend $'s
on a good engine that the club won't let me fly because of noise
level. Worst is having to buy a new muffler and spend more $'s to
reduce noise. Thanks for all the great inputs guys.
