They're from Bournemouth. Where all my heroes come from, like...
Oh I can't remember any at present.

    RE .1

I think they are worse than Big Fun. They are produced by SAW, whereas
Yell thought of doing this song all on their own! I'm sure they think
    they're cool.

I once met a person from the west country (Wincanton, Somerset) and he
thought Michael Jackson was the leader of fashion. He really wished he
could wear the leather suits with the straps and buckles, just like
Michael. It seems that Yell, and Big Fun are like that.

    Hey Mattyb

I'm from Bournemouth! I suppose you thought everyone there was still
over 65 and rolling around in bathchairs and listening to Max Bygraves!

I don't think that Yell are representative of the music scene in
Bournemouth (which is pretty varied). Bournemouth has a hell of
a lot more clubs than Basingstoke or Reading, no disrespect meant
    to commuterland Yuppies! :^)

Sorry, I really like Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch etc. I used to
go there a lot when I was little.

Also just 'cause I live in B'stoke doesn't mean I like it. I almost
hate the place, and that's why I'm moving back up north.

What I meant was nobody famous ever came from Bournemouth, Tinita
Tikaram (Yuk!) comes from Basingstoke, and Tessa Sanderson (Javelin
    thrower) comes from Reading.

You must agree that `Instant Replay' is a vast improvement on the
original, and tat's it is obvious that Yell are going to be the
biggest, most talented band since the Beatles.

The truth is Mark, I have played in umpteen bands for years, some
very good, some not so good. But I don't *look* like these guys.
I'm not suggesting that I had/have the talent to make it, but I do
know that these guys certainly don't.

But as the wee man says, they got the look. An that's all that
    seems to count these days.

A good example is the Dundee band Danny Wilson. I haven't heard
a more talented band for years, but they're not "pretty boys", so
    bang goes the hype.

RE. 25

This 'band' obviously DO have the talent to make it because they HAVE.

OK, maybe this talent is to play crappy happy songs, and look pretty. It sold
their records. I don't particularly LIKE this sort of music, but I certainly
don't dislike it either.

Stop complaining, and start convincing Joe Public he should buy your records
instead of theirs!

    I don't know why, but when I'm in a nightclub and a record that I don't
like comes on, I just can't dance. The vibe dissapears, and I get
depressed. Silly really. When I go the the *club* in Basingstoke I
have moods depending on what they're playing.

The DJ plays some house, and that's OK, and then some early 80s synth
pop, and that's great, and then invasion of SAW. That's when I go to
buy a round! I get really depressed when they play the 60s mix LPs. I
like the 60s stuff to listen to but, for me the music of today has the
    right vibe for me.

The point I'm trying to make is that throw-away-music doesn't have any
place for me. I just can't forget what I'm dancing to.

    >> Stop complaining, and start convincing Joe Public he should buy

Unfortunately, to get to Joe Public you have to get to a record label
first, and then get on the Radio 1 play list etc etc...

The streets are littered with talented bands Joe Public never got
to hear because they just didn't have "the look".
