28.15DISC BRAKES?BSS::BORENFri Apr 04 1997 10:5413
    I'm upgrading to disc's on my 57'...and heard there are Camero disc's
    that will slap on my existing spindles? Anyone know what year Camero's?

    The 57' has no pwr steering or air :^) I did update the master cylinder
    (dual bowled) w/valve etc. (needed for line lock). I've looked at the
    aftermarket packages...they are a bit price'y :^( and later,
    maintenance costs stay up there also. So, if I can find a swapout and
    get replacements pad etc...from NAPA it would save a lot of $$'s

    Oh, and FYI - a few facts on my Tuq. 57' BelAir 4dr Sedan :^)

    I'll post info on the ivory/red 57' 210 later.....

    Turq. (with 10oz of gold perl), full cage, painless wiring, 16gal cell,
    relocated batt., and all the other safety stuff to meet NHRA tech :^)

New:30 over 427, 8:1 compression, open chamber heads, stock valves, Comp
    Cam (60degree duration, 280 I 288 E, lobe separation 114, Gross valve
    lift 547/547....232I and 237E @.050) Fired with MSD billet dist.,
    6al. The elevation here is around 300'.

    Kuhl 671 blower, I'll be starting at 5-7 lbs of boost, w/ 2 660 center
    squirter Holleys, fed with a high volume Mallory red pump via 1/2"
    lines. Turbo 350 with a shift kit, BM 3000 stall, MoPar 8.75 with
    STRANGE spool, Richmond 4:46 gears, Mosher Axles, Comp Eng ladders with
    Koni Coilovers. I'm planning to start off with 10.5 x 29 x15" street
    slicks and run footbrake, and pure street :^) Gotta get ready for the
    97' Super Chevy series :^} Maiden run April 19/20 Memphis Super Chevy
    (just another 15 days).

    I've got to re-weigh the car after all the recent changes but I'm
    shooting for around 3000 w/Driver. I found some super-comp headers,
    feeding 3"-3 chamber Flowmasters. The heads don't have any extensive
    porting work.

    The best we got out of the last power-plant (327)
    was 1.92 60' and 14.12 in the 1/4.

28.17disk brakes for the 57FABSIX::J_KASPERFri Apr 04 1997 11:579
    If you buy this months hot rod or car craft mags I believe there is
    an article on brake systems either by it self or attached to a project
    car but they talk about a current dual master cylinder that works great
    when updateing to disk brakes. My guess about the proper disk set up
    would be from a '67-'72 camaro, chevele's, nova's,monty carlo's etc
    had the same size spindles . The only difference I am aware of is
    the rotor size, whether they used 14" or 15" wheels?
