Conference foundr::firearms

    
    
    Greetings, folks.  I've recently started thinking about guns again
    after a loooong absence.  Like many here, I grew up with guns and
    have many great memories of heading out to the range at the local
    club on Saturday morning with my dad. We always had an array of 
    .22lr's, .22 pistols, and shotguns around the house.  My dad was
    big on gun safety and fun, in that order.  He bought me my first
    bb gun and my first .22.  I've had my Mass FID card since I was
    old enough to get one.
    
    Somewhere along the way, I didn't have time for shooting and
    eventually sold my guns.  I kept only my Crossman 760 air rifle
    that I've had since junior high school.
    
    A few weeks ago I decided to get back into air rifles and
    plinking, mostly because I bought some land in NH that was just
    begging for air gun targets. 8-)  I ended up buying a Chinese
    ts-45 air rifle and I've been having a *wonderful* time shooting
    it and teaching my kids about gun safety and shooting.
    
    Then I wandered into this notes file and discovered that while
    I've been off doing other things, other gun owners have been on
    guard, watching out for my rights with their own time and money. 
    
    Your time and your money, making sure that some pinhead didn't
    take away the right to keep and bear arms to make us all "safer."
    I stumbled on to note 6016 and was practically in tears.
    
    Thank you, each and every one of you!  I wanted to let you know
    that I've got *my* check book out now, and GOAL and the NRA are
    about to see some of it.  And I think I'll send my congressman a
    letter, just in case he's wondering how I'd like him to vote!
    
    My brother kept all of my father's guns when my father passed
    away.  We're going to have to get together. 8-)
