    Another year has come and gone...   Anyone care to share
    the goals they want to accomplish for themselves this year,
    and how you're going to go about it....

    I have a goal that is totally unrealistic but I am going for it.  I
    want to get up to 1000lbs on my 45 degree sled.  That means adding
    45lbs per quarter.  Impossible but I am going for it anyway.  I believe
    I can add maybe another 100 lbs by calander end, but 200 is a tad bit
    much.  I have been going after this goal by decreasing my total sets to
    8.  I substitue every other week triple sets in which I work all three
    leg muscle groups in one triple set.  There are two real obstacles to
    overcome.  First is my back.  I have a very bad back and can't do
    ultraheavy squats.  The second is mental, I know its going to be super
    tough to make myself beleive I can do this.  Just the thought of going
    up another 4 45lb plates makes me twitch.  What the hell right?
    
    Heck every wednesday I stumble up and down stairs now, so whats a bit
    more pain.

    My goal is to decide on a goal.  My workouts are all over the place to
    the point of insanity.
    Kick-boxing, aerobics, running - pick one
    2-day split light and high reps, heavy and low reps - pick one
    Do I want to get stronger? Am I going for endurance? Do I want to 
    get bigger? Do I want to get smaller? 
    In short - I have no goal.  I'm trying to make some sense of it all.
    And in the process, I'm burning myself out, big time. with double
    workouts, etc. I'm not having any fun at the moment : (

    My goal is not quite as intense as Brains, but, I plan on getting the

    My goal is to lose some bodyfat and inches.  I'm hoping that
    my extra cardio workout in the morning (teaching kikk-boxx
    aerobics) will help me finally get to were I want to be.
    Seems I never made enough time for a good cardio workout 
    before.  I was always too interested in getting to the weights.
    Using the stairmaster, riding the bike, or using the treadmill
    gets to be boring after a while.  Aerobics was always hard to
    fit in, cuz the classes ended to late (which made me late for
    work).
    So between teaching, weight training, and karate, I'm hoping
    I can get to were I'd like to be.

  My goal is to finish the Leadville Trail 100, a 100 mile footrace, mostly on
  trails in the heart of the Rocky Mtns. It has a 30 hour time limit. Last 
  year, I tried it for the first time and had to drop at 72 miles after 2 
  different injuries got the best of me. I know that lifting will help. How 
  much, I'm not sure of. I also hope that it will balance things out and help 
  prevent injuries.

  As the weather improves, I'll spend more time on the trails and less in the
  weight room. Eventually, I'll go into a maintenance mode. Meanwhile,
  I'll enjoy my early mornings in the gym lifting.

    I am 1/4 of my way to my goal, I increased a 45 lb plate today.  Man I
    am sore already.  This is some kind of sport where if you hurt to be
    touched you think you did good.  Sicko.

    How bout the boneheads who walk up to you and give you wanna of them
    guy shoulder punchs. And you want to smack him back so badly on his
    royal ars, but instead you smile and say not to do that. And still the
    bonehead comes at you like you should be man enough to take his
    friendly jockular attacks. Dam... If I could get away with it, there
    would be a number of broken hands!:)

my goals? to just do it! just do anything to keep getting fit; if i gain muscle,
so be it! if i gain more cardio, so be it! if i get to see my abs, so be it!

i like way too many things to bogged down by any one; while i do enjoy lifting 
the most, when it comes time for running, mtn climbing, hiking, biking, (even 
thinking of tempting rock climbing: guess who's turning that magic number soon?)
etc- i make the time for those endeavors as well even if it means skipping 3 
weeks at the weights at a time.
