250.0. "So long, farewell......" by IAMOK::WASKOM (Goofy's Mom) Mon Mar 30 1992 11:21

I can't quite believe that I'm doing this, but sometimes the
opportunity is so good that you have to take it. This is one
	of those times.

I'm leaving Digital -- my last day will be April 24. The worst
thing about the new position is that there won't be a Sports, or
any Freakin' Lunatics. This place has been the best thing about
	DEC for me.

Hopefully, I won't lose touch with y'all completely. I'll be on
the road with the new job. If you'd like to get in touch when I
get to a city or town near you, please send me how I can reach
you off the net and outside of DEC (home addresses and normal
phone numbers). I'll still try to get to get-togethers and such.
(Hawk, don't you dare stop organizing Patriot's Day - I've already
got it in my calendar to send you mail around the first of next
year (-: ) I'll still be on the sidelines of various and assorted
	rugby games.

So with any luck, this won't be adieu, but au revoir.

re: me organizing future Patriots Day Sox games...

You mean, you all still trust me? :-) Actually, I did think of
"retiring" from this yearly activity because of my stupid blunder, but
then I got to thinking, could I lose 36 tickets again? (Please, if you
must answer that, do so in another note!)

A&W, you will be missed. Not only do you add colorful and objective
notes which always make alot of sense (too much, in fact), but being of
the female persuasion, which is a rarity in this conference, it's nice
to see the other side (not macho) of things...

I'm sure we'll still see ya, and good luck!

A&W, sorry to see you go, but I'm happy you've got this opportunity.

You definitely will be missed around here. Sports just doesn't seem to
attract enough women, and the loss of one has a big impact. In this
case, it's even more so as you've become very active over the past
couple of years. I'm glad we met at one Sox game, and perhaps we'll
    meet again at another.

Anyway, best of luck to you. For you others who might be in contact

    A&W,

I didn't want to comment when you first posted your farewell and I
wanted to make sure that I DID say something befor you left. I hope
    you get to read this.

I'm happy for you and sad for me (and us) as you leave for something
better. Believe it or not, you have had a tremendous impact on us
loonies, always bringing a bit of sensible "motherhood" perspective
to our shithouse lawyer moral debates and you uncannily usually shut us
down and stopped many a endless rathole! (Damn feminine maturity!)

I'll never forget the firsted time we met at the Christmas get-together
in Maynard, the one where that guy kept asking Slasher if he had a
match. We chatted about sports and stuff and you told me about Data
General's CEO product ina way that I really understood. For that I'm
    greatful.

Get togethers, ah yes get togethers.....You went to a bunch of them and
really made it fun. I'll remember the ones at T.O.P and up at that
place near Lowell (forget the name right now) the most. You're good
    people and a great conversationalist.

Our common interests in sports and the loonies made it possible for
you and I to honestly talk and I'm glad for the opportunity. I'll miss
that and somehow I'll try to keep in touch. You have my "dastisticks"
so if I don't succeed, make sure to take the initiative and yell at me
    for failing to do so.

I don't care if your taller than me! If'n me and the F.E.W do a
self-fulfilling prophecy, I wanna look you up, you're HOT! ;^)

Honestly, I hope and pray for the best for you, your new career, you
and the ancient rugger and Goofy. May happiness always be with you.

    Fondly,
    I remain,
    hoping to see you again,

supplies. May each of you have as much joy in the work you do as I
will have in my new position - where ever and when ever you find it.

    I know, I know.....

Those adds and promos for "I Love New hampshire" staring Doug Flutie
were just too much for you, JD, right?

And, JD, after you saw the Celtics roll over on national TV last
Sunday, you just KNEW that Larry would retire - AND - they would have a
parade to city hall in his honor. And, we noters KNOW how much you love
    a parade and all..

We also, know, JD, that politics were just too liberal out there for
you. You got tired of having to wait a day for your subscription to the
Manchester Union Leader and we know you needed your conservative fix in
    a timely manner.

It all makes sense now. You missed baring your lats in the Fenway
bleachers to the delight of the Fall River Brownie troop #530. Yup, and
you figured the cafeteria cashier in the Mill was missin' ya real bad
    like.

So anyway, hope this move is what you wanted and best of luck.

    Rich

'Saw,

I live about 2 hours from Rosalyn, Wa. Only the exterior shots are filmed there.
(they actually have to import snow for much of the winter scenes). All the
interior scenes are filmed in a warehouse in Redmond which is the next town
over from where I work.

I keep hoping to bump into John Corbett, Janine Turner or John Cullum some time
at the local 7-11 or something.

I hope to get to Rosalyn some time this summer.

Cool.

If you meet any of them, don't forget to tell them how much we all love
the show!

Digger beat me to it about the Diner. Do they still have "all you

I heard an interesting fact today:

Of the 25% that DEC has TFSO'd in the last year, only 3% were in
    Massachusetts.
