Last night at our monthly meeting Charlie Nelson gave at talk about his Waco VKS7K 1/5.3 scale. For anyone who doesn't know Charlie he won 1st place in the 1992 TOP GUN in expert class. One of Charlie's tip is the use of wood filler. I asked him what he used to fill balsa and plywood. He uses that same stuff I use. ELmers Lite Spackle. Instead of paying big bucks for that stuff at the hobby story just go to the hardware store and get the same thing a lot cheaper. Another interesting point he uses ZAP everywhere, no epoxy....

I've seen many of Charlie's models in the partial construction phase and they are works of art. His wood joints are perfect! Everything is cut to fit perfectly. This is important if you use Zap everywhere. Charlie

It must be something about the name "Charlie", because I've seen Charlie Watt's planes and they're built just as meticulously!

You don't do so bad yourself, Dave! You just forget to put an engine in most of your planes. :-) C.
