1392.1 | Here's some things to try | ZENDIA::REITH | Jim Reith DTN 226-6102 - LTN2-1/F02 | Thu Dec 12 1991 09:04 | 10 |
| Here's something I'd try...
I assume you've got a free mix that connects to the crow switch. Have a
second mix on the switch which resets channel 1 to always have a -150%
offset regardless of stick position (mixing 0% but offset -150%) when
the switch is thrown. Another possibility is to have it mix with
itself in a negative direction. The more the stick moves the bigger the
opposite compensation. These are just things I'd initially try. I
haven't done these personally but it should be doable. These types of
features are what makes having multiple mixes on the same switch nice.

1392.2 | My setup is almost what you want | CSOVAX::MILLS | | Thu Dec 12 1991 15:17 | 10 |

I have crow mode and throttle on motor working on the stock 7 ch rx.
But The crow mode is all or nothing using the crow switch. I didn't
know you could set it up variable on the throttle unless you mixed
it your self. I didn't really spend a lot of time on it. It just
worked out that way and it worked great.
I'd be interested in what you learn/find out. Because it is this setup
that I bought the radio for.

1392.3 | Whoops | CSOVAX::MILLS | | Thu Dec 12 1991 19:31 | 6 |
| Whoops, your right. I did not check the throttle while in crow
mode. Gee the airelons move don't they :-). It seems it sort of
works out because when the throttle is off it's in full crow.
I guess I could move the motor to a spare channel which you don't
have the option of which the RCD 5 ch rx. Let us know what you
find out. You might give JR a call also.

1392.4 | Fixed w/ 7 channel rx | USRCV2::BLUMJ | | Mon Dec 16 1991 09:24 | 12 |
| I got the ARCUS programming squared away over the weekend. To make
it work I needed to go back to the 7-channel receiver and use ACRO
mode. The ailerons are plugged into channels 2 and 6, and the motor
control is plugged into channel 7. The ailerons work as spoilerons
when the throttle stick is advanced and the motor can be operated in
on/off mode with mix switch 2. I have a feeling there is a way to
do this with a 5 channel receiver in glider mode, but I have not
figured it out yet.

Jim

1392.5 | 5 channels sort of works even better | NICCTR::MILLS | | Mon Dec 16 1991 11:49 | 9 |
| I thought you wanted crow (airelons up). Like I said in .-? I do have
it all working on 5 channels by accident. When crow is off all is
normal. When crow is on and throttle off the airelons go up. If I push
on the throttle the airelons straghten out as the motor comes on. It's
great because if I turn the motor and forget to shut off crow it does
the right thing. You could set the trip point of your speed control at
the very end of the throw so that you can get variable crow without
turning on the motor.

1392.6 | Error in manual!!!!!! | UNYEM::BLUMJ | | Wed Sep 08 1993 15:17 | 18 |
| I learned a very expensive(time and aggravation wise) lesson over the
weekend.
The callouts in the JR X-347 manual for the ailerons are reversed
when in Glider mode! This results in differential working
just the opposite manner(more down than up).
I know there are other ways to achieve differential(ie servo
travel adjust), but I found it easier to use the differential
parameter.
To summarize, channel 2 is called out as left aileron in the manual
when it should be right. Channel 5 is called out at right aileron
when it should be left.

Jim
