  Tom,

How about the Ace 4-40 bipe? I know it is actually designed for 4 stroke
engines, but the ads say you can run it with the 2 stroke also. You would
probably need to add a bit of nose weight to it.

Somewhere in this file there is a discussion on the 4-40. I seem to remeber
mostly good comments about it.

    Tom,
Well, I'm building a Great Planes Super Sportster 40 Bipe, I'll
let you know how it flies in a couple months. But, you think
Great Planes kits are too expensive...

How about the Sig Smith Miniplane? I've seen one of these and it
seems like a good one. Oh, I forgot, you don't like Sig either...

    Well, guess I can't help you! :-)

Actually Dave I'm considering two ships from kits.

One being the Northeast Aerodynamics bipe 40 and yes the
    Super Sportster 40 Bipe.
If not one of these two then I'll probably design one myself.
I had hoped to pick one up yesterday but there wasn't much in bipes
    worth spending money on....
I did pick up a great kit of a zlin 50. It was a circus kit made
by IM of japan and imported circa 1983. Back then I had tried to
buy one but they had stopped importing it because of cost and
went with the built up one they prosently sell. It has a detailed
fiberglass fuse with a built up wing and tail. This kit is already
up in the attic in storage. It will be a great flyer but first I'll
have to find an Enya 80 4 stroker for it.

Well I've made my choise. Actually I have the kit. It's the
Belair 40 from Northeast aerodynamics...... Great kit. I've
seen some soft wood is past kits but this one seem excellent
I've already been through the plans and instruction book
(Gee I guess they can be filed now:-)). I might just reshape the
top trailing edge pieces and go with dual ailerons.

Is there any merit to doing this modification? If not then I
won't waist my time. Also they show a modification for a tapered
leading edge on the horizontal stab. I'll probably opt for this
mod. Other than that it will get the new Enya 45 CXTV. I have that
    now any it runs great.
