| I just received a EZ SPORTSMAN 25S, the shoulder wing version. I
also ordered an OS .25 FP.
I put in somewhere between 10-15 hours to get it in flying condition.
The instructions where sketchy and in broken English. But I managed
to complete it with no major problems. I have to cut the cowling
to fit the motor, and replace the nose gear steeing control arm.
I may also need to replace the 1" wheels to a larger size for grass
runways. Also, when I completed it, I had to add some weight to
the nose to get it to balance.
I don't consider myself an airplane kit expert, but my overall
impression was good. The finished product looks great. Now let's
see how it flies and how crash survivable it is.
The construction, from what I could tell is a plywood frame with cutouts
to lighten the structure. Then covered with a sheet of foam, a sheet
containing the paint scheme and a protective clear sheet.
The kit really does come with everything, except motor, radio and
propeller. I did need some fuel tubing and CA, and slightly more
epoxy that what the kit comes with.
I hope to fly it sometime this week, and let you know if it survives.

| I would very much like to hear from you. I would like to get
one but do not know anyone who has one. Did the pieces, lets say
like the wing halves fit well together? Are there any documentation
errors? Good luck on the first flight!!!

Yes, the wing halves went together very well, basically you add
a plywood spacer to each wing. Here the instructions were not
clear as to placement, because these pieces will fit into a slot
on the fuse to hold the leading part of the wing. You then epoxy
two dihedral braces together and before that dries you have to
epoxy the hell out of it and fit the wing together. The epoxy that
came with the kit is 30 minute epoxy so there was ample time.
The pieces fitted together very well and tight, no sanding or
modifications there. The part of the spacer that fits into the fuse
had to be sanded slightly to provide a good fit.
I don't recall any errors in to documentation.
First flight was yesterday, I could not get off the ground cause
the wheels were to small, but I hand launched. It literally took
off right out of my hand at full throttle. Was very quick and
responsive. Everything was trimmed neutral and had to make no changes.
I will readjust the controls to provide less throw, until I can
used to the increased speed over a PT-40. It was darker than I
anticipated (7pm) so after about 3-4 minutes I started practicing
approaches, at the second approach I decided to land, but was off
to one side of the runway, so the landing gear caught some tall
grass and flipped the plane over on its back. Damage was a slightly
wrinkled rudder, no big deal.

| Well, I got two more flights in on Saturday. It felt more docile
due to the reduced throw on the controls and flew quite well
in the strong breeze. My second flight ended when the fuel
supply tube popped out of the carb, fortunately I was on
the downwind leg of the pattern, and was able to land with no incident.
So far I am pleased with it's performance.

Anyone have any comments on the NEW EZ F-16 pusher. This looks
like fun.... Price is just about right. 200 plus some change.
Never had any experience with pushers though. Seems to me to be
easier to push than pull.
comments, comments, comments!!!

-Z-man!
This pusher will have the same "problem" as ducted fan
models. You need airspeed to make the control surfaces work. On
a conventional plane low speed control is greatly enhanced by
propwash, especially when the engine is "gunned". On the pusher
F16 you don't have this, so you will have to increase throws,
especially on the elevator, beyond "normal". This is not a big
deal, but something to be aware of. I agree it looks like fun,
maybe not quite as much as a ducted fan F16, though :-)

Re: -.1
Anker thanks!
But the price and hassle are much less. Those duct fans are sweet
but my wallet isn't big enough. Plus I can scarf a .25 easier.
Gotta start somewhere.

| Hopefully some of you have tried some more EZ kits since the last reply
to this note! Anybody tried the Chipmonk 30 size EZ??? Seen one
fly??? Anybody tried or seen the EZ TUFLEX fuselage?? I'd sure
appreciate your comments.
Thanks,
Will
