    Dan,

Vito Tomeo (somewhere in Florida) sells plans, canopies, glass parts,
etc. for a larger size Sea Fury, probably in the 75" span, .90-to-1.08
power range. It's a gorgeous ship, though, perhaps, larger than
you'd prefer. I have no address information for Vito, you'll have
to plod through some mag.'s and look for his ad. Or, maybe some
NOTER out there could provide Vito's vitals........

    Adios,	Al

Off the top of my head I think Rojair are no more.. I
haven't seen their kits around for a long time....

I'll check out if any other Sea Fury kits or plans are
	available.....

	cheers

338.4THAT'S A ROGER.......GHANI::CASEYATHE DESERT RAT (I-RC-AV8)Thu Jan 28 1988 10:2623
    Dan,

    Yep! Vito Tomeo (To-mayo) is correct...I'd stake yer' life on it. :-}
He had a plans service some years back, the Sea Fury being the first
of several larger (.90 size) fighters he designed. I recall him
being based in Florida, somewhere, but, unfortunately, have no further
    info.

I might suggest two possible courses: look back through older mag's
(at least 5-yr.'s, maybe more), primarily RCM and SR/CM, and see
if you can locate an address; write to either of the above mag's
[or call] requesting current info on Vito's whereabouts.

It's certainly possible he may have discontinued the plans service
but [I'd think], if you could get in contact with him, he might be
    able to accomodate you.

If all this fails, about yer' only recourse would be to put out feelers
[perhaps in a mag] to locate an existing set of plans languishing in
    someone's workshop.

Adios and good luck, amigo, Al

re Note 338.5, Sea Fury documentation discovered by my son-in-law

More leads from the student since his previous letter:

Aircraft Engineering (a British technical journal) Sept 1948

"a fantastic in-depth article on the plane. Included are about
twenty photographs of various sub-assemblies (wing, undercarriage
doors, canopy, etc.) on the first Sea Fury production line.
Unfortunately, the photos do not Xerox well."

    Sport Aviation (magazine) June 1980

"a beautiful color painting of a two-seat T.20 Sea Fury on the
back cover" [This ought to get Dan Snow's attention.]

Repla-Tech International catalog (48500 Mckenzie Hwy, Vida, OR, 97488)

"offering "precisely the plans I have been searching for. They are
made by a British company and are in 1/72, 1/48, and 1/24 scales.
Photos, text, and scrap (sic; really "scrap"?) views are included.
..... They offer dozens of color photos of various military and
racing Sea Furys as well as their own line of 1/72 scale drawings."

He thinks the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks may have a Sea
Fury in storage --- disassembled, unrestored, and partially wrapped
in canvas. (Did I just hear Dan suggest picking up the kid at UNH
and driving to Connecticut with cameras?) His lead on this was Roger
Ritter, c/o AirPhoto, 3 Leelynn Circle, Londonderry, NH, 03053.

338.10Vailly 90" plans availableCTUADM::MALONEAlways ObtuseThu Jun 01 1995 23:0320
Vailly Aviation-Roy Vailancourt-New York. Listings every month in most
of the mags. I recently purchased the 90" (1/5) plans. He also has an
air racing version (100") plans set.
The plans came rolled in a protective cardboard sleave. Fairly
sturdy, and it must have taken the Post Office some real effort to bend
it the way they did. No harm though, the plans were a little crumpled,
    but after re-rolling, all was well. It is a 6 sheet (36" x 4's', 5', 6',
7', and yes 8')set. The quality is quite good, and some building hints
    are distributed throughout the plans.
They do not include a bill of materials however, and the BOM is
quite extensive. The plans list several power plant options depending
on overall build weight, anything from a 2.4 to 3.7 cubic inch.
I would iterate at this time however, these plans are for
experienced builders. They do not include things like radio and
control hardware mounting details, and there is no construction manual.

338.11Some specs and stuffCTUADM::MALONEAlways ObtuseTue Jul 18 1995 14:0243
Several items of interest have presented themselves to me in recent
weeks. The start was obtaining some specs (no big deal, as generally
available in any mag/kit) from the Museum in Ottawa. I will post those
specs here for general information. In addition to this, I have
recently become a member of the Calgary Aerospace Museum, and have
obtained a good solid lead on a Sea Fury located here in Calgary at the
Naval Cadet Museum. Apparently the Aerospace museum did a restoration
on the Fury, and should have copies of the original manufacturer's
plans. I have been attempting to contact someone who is on both museum
boards, to try and obtain permission to photograph the plane for
documentation. Most of the publications and documentation I have
obtained to date are lacking in undercarriage and cockpit details. I
will update this note, as more information becomes available, and if a
photo op is forthcoming, then I will arrange to obtain detailed
photos, and make them available to others at a later date.
