According to the papers this morning the Grand Prix at Portugal has
been cancelled by the FIA due to work not starting on track
    improvements.

The race will now switch to Jerez in Spain and called the European GP.

Further to my last note, that means there will be two Grand Prix races
called the European GP doesn't it ?

.5 Further to my last note, that means there will be two Grand Prix races
.5 called the European GP doesn't it ?

If you read the previous notes you'll see that Nrburgring is known as
Grand Prix of Luxembourg. So, Jerez could be Grand Prix of Europe. That
naming thing to me is irrelevant. Bernie had committed 17 GPs with the
teams, so he had to deliver, even if a race had to be called Grand
    Prix of Mars ...

    From Atlas F1

Early Thursday, the FIA declared that the Portuguese Grand Prix was to
be switched in favor of a European Grand Prix at Jerez in Spain.
The FIA accused Estoril officials of negligence concerning mandated track
    and facility changes.

In an immediate move, the Portuguese government intervened and promised
the FIA that changes would occur. A Portuguese FIA representative
confirmed the latest development and added that this final Grand Prix
of the year would be held on November 9th from October26th.
