The presentation of the new EJ197 car last week brought a number of
news:
- Jordan is no longer a small team. They now have 110 people on the
payroll
- Gary Anderson is back in the role of chief engineer. He has time to
think about improving the car, not just fixing everything himself.
- Peugeot are supplying a brand new A14 V10. Jean-Pierre Boudy said the
A14 is the 1st real 3litre engine, the A10 being a modified 3.5litre
and the A12 a modified A10 for reliability. The A14 has the same
external characteristics (same V angle of 72 degrees, same length but
reduced weight).
- Giancarlo Fisichella has run 8 GPs from Minardi. Ralf Schumacher is a
F1 rookie. Eddie Jordan is placing great hopes on those 2 guys.
