More from the web Benetton reportedly ready to pull out of Formula One BONN (May 27, 1997 - 12:31 EST) - Italian ready-to-wear group Benetton will pull out of formula one Grand Prix racing at the end of the current season, the economic weekly Wirtschaftswoche reports in its Wednesday edition. Group chairman Luciano Benetton has reportedly put the team up for sale because of mounting costs and difficulty in finding another engine after French firm Renault cuts off its free supply next season. Team manager Flavio Briatore is also reported to be on the move. Porsche, BMW and Audi were reported to be in talks over the Benetton sale. | |||||
