Havn't been to see my distant rellies' in Scotland yet but how
about............
BRG Lotus Elan with 10K on the clock (i.e. warmed and run in!). Full
grey hide, Blaupunkt CD and 6 speaker Magnat set-up with James Taylor
singing "Mexico". Roof down, Angels baseball cap on, sun streaming in,
Grace Brady as co-pilot (unless you were raised in Invercargill NZ that
wont mean a thing - you know!!!, the first......:-) ) and doing a few
circuits around Loch Lomand and Loch Ness late summer about 2:00 p.m. in
the afternoon.
Absolutly perfect!
Sorry have to go.......reality knocking...
have a nice day!

| In the mood............................or how about???
HSV Commodore (GM 4 litre 4 door sedan made in Australia breathed on by
their Holden Special Vehicles team) Club Sport manual in mica red.
Partial leather Recaro's holding you close to the BW 5 speed; 4th gear
pulling 4000RPM; 5.0L 200KW V8 pinning you to the seat as you stare
down the eternal heat-hazed Hay Plain road that runs dead straight for
about 400 miles outside Adelaide in Australia. Speedo reading 210k
as you reach for 5th, white lane road dividers blurred into a single
line, rev-limiter at 250k just starting to ping.....
Just me and the corn fields...............

I dream for my ol' 1964 Ford Popular, complete with rusted wings,
broken doors, 2nd gear out of order, slipping clutch, poor
brakes, 8 track cassette with 1 working speaker, windows that
don't move, loud exhaust, well worn suspension !, and would have
my ol' dad as my navigator.
Fed up of hearing how he didn't have it easy when he was
young !!!.
Even better, I'll have him drive it !!!!!!.

This is really difficult.
Maybe a Corvette ZR1 and the Arizona desert?
Or a French RN and a Marcos Mantula?
Or the Hardknot Pass and a Renault 5 GTT (and the guarantee of no sheep
and no other cars!).
Or maybe just crusing the Cote D'Azur in an XJS convertible?
How can you answer a question like this!?? :^)

| I'd leave my car in the garage....if it's enjoyment that you REALLY
want.
KAWASAKI ZXR750 or SUZUKI GSXR750W.......yes! that would do nicely.
There ain't a car in the world that I would choose instead of those two
super bikes for grin/enjoyment factor 10. If pressed though, a 69' red
Corvette would suffice.

Can anyone tell me what the little silver car was in the
Video/film "MR DESTINY"?
If that car has a reasonable racing pedigree then it would be my
choice.
Venue would be France in the Autumn, with a Chateau plus swimming
pool as the destination.

I recently spent a great afternoon, in idyllic weather, at the
Nurburgring with a great group of enthusiasts, and their cars
(including an Alfa SZ, Porsche 911 C2 and 944 S2, and an Escort
Cosworth). Even managed to get a tape of me doing a respectable
lap.
Other memories?
- First drive of a 911, in winter in Scotland - leaving the hotel
with an inch of snow under the tyres.
- Driving an SZ up Stelvio, and my old MR2 down.
- First lap of the Nurburgring, in a Citroen AX GT loaded with
skis and luggage.
- Touching the rev limiter in top gear, in a 911 C2 (indicated 178mph)
Dreams? Changing all the time, but how about...
Place? The Nurburgring.
Car? Fancy a go in the Diablo (having missed out once before)
Afterwards? Dinner at the Hotel Zurburg and on to the PistenKlaus.
William.

Navigator - the wife or my son once he's aged a few years - share the

Venue - The Nurburgring would do, but some nice back country roads would
do as well
(hell, even having it sit in my driveway for 24 hours would be great!)
