| does anyone know how to remove a cassette/radio (without damage) from the
dash?
Mine has a small, deep hole in each corner, however putting a screwdriver
down these only makes 'springy' noises i.e. no screws down there to turn.
the front plate also seems to be bonded to the unit

| I want to remove mine to stop someone else doing it first!!!
the tape bit doesn't work too well,
& I'd like to fit a 'removable' type case to it so that I can pull it out
when I'm not with the car

| The 'slots' at the side type fitting requires a special tool
which you push in to release the spring clips, then it just
pulls out.
It's supposed to be a 'standard' fitting, but I think there
are more than one type. Could read the manual I suppose.
Get tools at car radio specialists or from your local car radio
thief.

| If it's the Phillips, BlauPunkt style with two holes each side, one at the
top one at the botton, try making the "special tool" from two lengths of
coat hanger wire. It works a treat with my Phillips radio ...shame the
Clarion I have isn't the same

| I have a pair of special removal tools that came with my Clarion radio.
I'll bring them in - you're welcome to see if they work.

| tried making one of these things out of a coat hanger...didn't work
phoned Weldale... "how do we know you're not trying to nick a car stereo?"
went to see 'em & they removed it in under 3 seconds!
