| Hey man, don't you think , you're a little bit out of fashion.
Elvis??...
And by the way, i really don't think that that copy is a collector's item, i
know that it's an antique.
Why don't you try to listen Prince, you'll see its better than Elvis.

No, it's not a collector's item. All copies of it were quad, and like
most Elvis LPs, millions were sold, so it's not rare.

RE. .1
Prince??? I'd rather hear the fat old dead King than that skinny
little <$@&&0TT> prince, who can't even spell his own name (and who
has the worst falsetto since Elton John!!)
As far as being in "fashion", I think you'll find that the number
of hard-core Elvis fans outnumber prince fans by quite a bit.
I used to play in the band for an Elvis-impersonator and was absolutely
amazed at the the number of Elvis fans that were willing to shell out
$15-$20 per ticket. I doubt that there will be a big market for
prince-impersonators 20 years from now...
just my 2 cents...

Prince isn't stupid enough to put himself into a drug-induced
coma and collapse in the bathtub, so there really should be no
need for Prince impersonators when the real McCoy will be a-
round for 20 years anyways.

This note is for discussing Elvis Presley. If you want to discuss
anyone other than Elvis Presley, i.e. Prince, then discuss it in the
appropriate (i.e. Prince) note.

| errr...or the guy who would be Prince, if he wus, but he ain't. Does it
need a new topic/title? Like "Was Prince" or "Prince Devolving"? Anyway,
thanks be to the acting-mod. This dissin' on the King was getting
irritating.

You could always buy "The Complete 50's Masters" box set. :-)
(I've been looking without success.) Who wrote it?
Assuming you really mean "Blue Moon", it was written by Rodgers and Hart.
If you meant "Blue Moon of Kentucky", it was written by Bill Monroe.

| Both "Blue Moon of Kentucky" and "Blue Moon" are on the
Complete Sun Sessions CD from RCA (this is available from the BMG CD
Club and therefore can be gotten cheap (it's one CD, with about 30
tracks)).

Yep -- and though it's been said many times before, the centerpiece of the
Sun Sessions CD is those first 5 singles ELvis & band did for Sun.
Good Rockin' Tonight, Mystery Train, Baby Let's PLay House, ...
What a great roots-music/hybrid song cycle those 10 songs make, as a
group. Before "Heartbreak Hotel" and all the ensuing hits, before RCA
bought up his contract, ...
That version of "Blue Moon" is pretty eerie, which probably explains why
it didn't make it onto one of the original 5 singles. - Jay

in september. This is supposedly a 3 volume collection featuring 69
of the kings top hits, has anyone heard anything about this?? does
anyone have this?? if so what do you think of it??.. Also there is
a VHS video which came out about 4 - 5 months ago, which I believe
is Elvis in Hona Lu lu or something, supposedly his best performance
can anyone tell me anything about this, I don't recall alot of the
songs they have on the tape..
