| sorry i can't help with a recommendation, but i did want to say that
in my opinion...classical training is all you need....with classical
training you will learn the proper way of singing which should
transcend any type off musical style.....although it does help if the
teacher doesn't run screaming from the room when you start to apply the
training to the type of music you want to do...start the lessons ..later,
if they won't do what you want to do, then you can change to someone
without the snob attitude..... /k

| Here's an enthusiastic recommendation for Charlotte Russell -- she's in
Littleton MA though, so may not be too convenient for you.
I agree with /k that most of the fundamentals of singing can be applied to any
style, and that you'll get those from a good classical teacher. But it helps
to find somebody who isn't prejudiced, and distinguishes between things that
are necessary for healthy singing and those that are just features of the
"classical style".
Charlotte's helped both my rock and classical singing tremendously. We work
on both types of songs in lessons.

Maybe that's what the base note author is trying to do, leave a snobbish
teacher.
