     Last year I bought my two boys a toy building set called Pipeworks.

    This note may not be appripriate here, but I thought that the
    Parenting Notes file would hit the right audience.  I am
    interested in buying 3 tickets for either the Friday or
    Saturday nite performance of New Kids on the Block
    concert at the Centrum in December.  Unfortunately, I
    have not kept a close eye on their bookings, and just
    learned of the Centrum booking.  Ticketmaster does have
    tickets for Friday or Sunday, however the location is
    far, far balcony ( We could stay home and watch them on TV!).
    Our 7 year old daughter 'adores' then (What 7 yr old doesn't??)
    and I'd really like to treat her to something special.  
    I realize that some parents may think that 7 is too young

    Brian used this toy in the hospital's play room and *loved* it.  He
    talks about it all the time.  It's a blue tow truck (about a foot long,
    eight inches high) with a gray crank.  You can crank up the truck and
    then push a lever either forward or backward and the truck moves by
    itself.  I looked in every toy store I could think of to find it. 
    Finally I called the hospital, found out it was made by FP, called FP,
    and found out they don't make it anymore (groan!).
    
    Does anyone have this toy?  Would you be willing to part sell it?

    on (I believe) PBS during the 1990 holiday season?  There were two
    1/2-hour, back-to-back programs, I believe.

    Wanted:  A bed rail or the "ladder thing" that is used in the loft beds
    of a trailer. We need this for the camper trailer, since AJ has

    For a bed rail we'd prefer something not permanently mounted, the mesh
    rail comes to mind.
    
    We'd also like a twin size blow up mattress, the ones with the velvet
    like covering that inflates with a hair dryer, to use up there for his bed. 
    It would be better to carry something deflated when traveling, since the 
    area can be used as storage when the trailer is in motion.

    Desperately seeking somewhere that sells "Diaper Doublers"!  I used to be 
    able to get them at Rite-Aid drugstore, Toys R us, Child world and my
    last hold out was Stop & Shop in Westboro.  They seemed to have
    discontinued them. (squeezed out by pampers phases is more like it!)  
    In each case it was sold under the store's own name, so there's no 
    manufacturer to write or call.  They look all the world like an over grown
    "Maxi-pad" for women.  We have been using them in his underwear to prevent
    stains from accidents.
    
    My last source has dried up, at least in Worcester county.  As a next
    measure, is there another Stop & Shop anywhere between MRO and the CT
    state line?  I'll travel if someone would pick them up for me.
    
    As you can tell, I'm a little desperate on this one.  I did try maxi
    pads, they just arn't wide enough, although the adhesive stip is an
    advantage to keeping them put.

    I'm looking for a Century infant seat, or minimally the base which
    stays in the car. The seat itself doesn't have to be in spiffy
    condition since what I really need is an extra base.
    
    I work in ACO (when I'm back from leave 12/1), and am willing to pick
    up anywhere in Greater Maynard, Marlboro or Nasua area.  Mail is the
    best mode to reach me for now.

     We need a pair of used beginner's skiis, binding, boots and poles for my  
     daughter,  Laura who will be 8 years old in 2 weeks.  She weighs 40 lbs.
     I'm not sure of the exact height and feet size, but she is thin and 
     small for her age.  So, lightweigh equipment would be best.

     Laura will be taking skiing lessons at the Stowe Beginners' Ski School
     starting Friday, January 10th.
     
     We would like to fit her in with the equipment to make sure they fit 
     her properly prior to the start of the Ski Lessons.  Please contact

    I was prepared for my toddler daughter's becoming attached to a stuffed
    animal as she left behind the bottle and pacifier, but I was
    not prepared for her to pick (of the over 50 animals she's got) the one

    	Lil Tikes makes a high chair with the curved back also. It is
    very strong and sturdy. The seat cover velcro's out for cleaning.
    It seems like this would also do the trick.

    In March 29th's Sunday Globe there was an article on an electrician who
    recently had an accident and was unable to work.  The man has a three 
    year old daughter and his wife delivered twin girls March 10th I believe 
    was the date.  The wife died shortly thereafter.  He comes from a large 
    family so at least there is help and emotional support there, but money
    is very scarce.  A fund has been set up for the family....I will enter 
    that tommorow if anyone is interested in sending donations.  In the mean
    time I will be sending items for the twins (we have a 3month old, so I have
    nothing for the 3 year girl), I was just wondering if anyone might have any
    thing they wish to donate.  I work in WOO, my husband in DAS, we live in 
    Wakefield I would be willing to pick things up or maybe set up drop off 
    points---friends in Maynard, Hudson NH.  I meant to send the package off 
    last week.....but with FT job and baby... I will wait til next weekend to
