1494.0. "Do these exist on CD?" by HOONOO::PESENTI (JP) Thu Jan 26 1989 05:36

Can anyone out there with the appropriate catalogues please tell me if the
following are available on CD?

	Fleetwood Mac Mystery to Me

	Jonathan Edwards	Jonathan Edwards
(or any others of his early stuff)

						     Thanks

    I wouldn't abandon a search for a c.d release simply bacause it
fails to appear in the Noteworthy catalog. After receiving and
reading their latest catalog I've come to the conclusion that
their stock is not only hopelessly mainstream but rather limited
even in that context. A better bet might be the c.d Hotline, the
numer of which is available from WBCN/536-8000.

FWIW, neither the Fleetwood Mac "Mystery to Me" nor the Jonathan
Edwards are listed in the December '88 Schwann CD catalog.
The only Jonathan Edwards entry I see is JE & The Seldom Scene,
"Blue Ridge", plus a JE & Darlene (?) entry that points to the
Comedy section. (I wouldn't know whether those are the same Jonathan
    Edwards.)

I'm curious whether the CD hotline referred to in the previous replies
has their own database of CD releases (possibly a superset of
Schwann's?), or if the person you get on the line just grabs a Schwann
or Green or whatever catalog and lets their fingers do the walking...

    re: Jonathan Edwards

There's a JE with the Seldom Scene CD (yes, .4, that one at least
is the same JE), and a new JE solo CD that just came out a week
or two ago (it's a new album, as far as I can tell).

Unfortunately, his early albums are not on CD.

    	RE: .4

I am reasonably sure the JE of Jonathan and Darlene Edwards is
not the same person as the JE of "Sunshine" fame. The one time
I heard something by J&DE was on an Armed Forces Radio and
Television program that I used to listen to when I was stationed
in Iceland. If memory serves me correctly, J&DE were associated
with Spike Jones. This JE played the piano while Darlene did
the singing. What made them fit in with SJ was that Jonathan
played the piano in a way that made you think he had six fingers
on each hand and Darlene sang off pitch by a small, but consistent
amount. "Perfectly off pitch" was the way the announcer described
    	it. Truly an amazing performance.

By the way, I'd like any information regarding a J&DE CD. It would
be fun to play it at a party without letting anyone know what was
going on. I wonder how long it would take for someone to notice.

RE: .6, Jonathan & Darlene Edwards

Here's the CD info, from the Spoken & Miscellaneous/Comedy section of
the December-88 Schwann CD catalog (it states their true identities):
