| Shawn cut his hair around 1977 (got caught in a fan). I saw him once,
in 1979 - he looked like the most clean-cut ALL AMERICAN boy I've ever
seen. He had VERY short hair, no beard or mustashe. I've seen him
three times since he put out his last public album (Transendence). In
his concerts, he has stayed with his 'acoustic' sound although he does
have synthesizers and an array of other 'gadgets'.
I last saw Shawn playing in a bar in Colorado Springs about a year and
half ago. He was really down and dejected. He couldn't find a label
that would allow him to put out a record. He talked about starting to
write musical scores for movies and song lyrics for LEE GREENWOOD.
I've watched Shawn go from 'stardom' in the early 70's to 'ground zero'
again at the bar in Colorado. He still has a great voice but the seems
to still be well grounded in the ideologies of the late 60's and early
70's (anti-war,anti-establishment,anti-nuc).
When last I heard him, many of the songs that are on this CD were played
in an 'acoustic' manner and not the 'electrical noise' that it is in now.
Shawn did put out another record (only 500 copies) which he sold
himself at local gigs around Texas. Wish I could get one.

| I just saw Shawn here in Minneapolis about three months ago. He
came into town to sing, that's right sing, for a friend of his wedding.
It was a great performance in this acoustically perfect church and
he had a 12 string along with the piano player. Just beautiful.
He spent the whole weekend here and performed three sold out shows
at a local hot club called the FineLine. His hair is a little longer
( I don't know what long is I where mine real short ) but just down
to around the tops of his shoulders. I hadn't heard him for along
time so it was good to see him back. His voice is still really
strong and he didn't perform much of the loud R&R stuff, mostly
acoustic tunes and some of his old stuff.
It really was a great evening.
