re 'Robason & Jerome':-
I just caught the end of the nominations on Radio 1 - basically, Blur
Oasis & Pulp have been nomiated for everything - and they were pointing
out that nominations are based on artistic merit, not commerical
success. Hence no Roboson & Jerome....

1340.13 | Who really cares about the Brits anyway ????? | CHEFS::CROSSA | | Tue Jan 09 1996 13:54 | 17 |
| On Sky news last night one of the voting panel (400 industry types) was
explaining the reason for the nominations. The reason Robson &.... are
not nominated even though they apparently have had the fastest selling
album is because " they released an album of cover versions , BAD cover
versions "!!!, hence no nomination. Boo Hoo says I !!! I assume the
same applies in all other categories. Given the fact these votes are
placed by industry types it says a lot about the bands on various
rosters if only Blur and Oasis are slugging it out. Apparently
Radiohead have a few nominations as well. This is the industry patting
itself on the back and as such (and this is something past awards have
taken a panning for) does not reflect the punters veiws.
AND that ginger bufoon is presenting them AGAIN. Oh well another years

complete and utter American, vomit worthy schmaltz we were subjected

those stage school brats at a venue such as the Brits (bearing in mind
it's not the mid/late eighties any more) and the "bad boys" were there
as the press seem to call them.
I think Michael Jackson should be arrested for offensive portrayal of

Sadly I have to confess to watching that ginger twit(oooopppss wrong

Jarv...... 45 minutews later they have a chat via dodgy satellite link
(cr*p audio) and had the footage from the moment he got up on stage to
him leaving. Jarvis said it was down to Candida saying he would not
have the nerve to get up on stage and protest at the spectacle they
were witnessing. He did. Once up there he said he did not know what to
do so he turns round and wiggles his bum at the audience. One of the
dancers trys to grab him, he skips around a bit , avoids capture and
exits stage left! He then had two hours of questioning in his dressing
room while Wackos lawyers (all THREE of them) try to come up with
something to charge him with). He touchs no one during the whole thing.

| Liam squaring up to Mike Huthence was quite a laff. As was Noels
comments about has beens, while the has been in question was stood next
to him! Jacko deserved a slap for that "performance". Fair play to
Jarvis indeed! oh and bonus points to Liam for refering to Chris Evans
(Richard head) in a less than complimentary manner i.e "It'll take more
than ginger bollox to get us off the stage!" etc etc
Stretch.

| I wanted to watch it so I video'd it last so that I can play it back
and forward through all the boring bits. Should only take 10 minutes
to watch.
