| Dunno. I'll let you know when I buy it (not until next wednesday, for all
the obvious reasons, and that's assuming I can find it in the local Hi-Price
- not very likely...)
Chris.

| Bought the cd last night. Excellent, especially "French Disko", tracks
6 & 7 (whose names escape me) and one other that I think is called
"Lo Boom Oscillator". Well worth investing in.
Also rather fine is the new Electrafixion single, although rather
worringly, the second track on the EP is 7 minutes long. Hmmm, shades
of hippydom.

| Alleycat live!!! excellent!! Did you get that from the Stereolab web
site? Havent peeked there for a while...
Hmmm...27th Feb - doesn't that clash with Echobelly at Reading Uni and
The Weddoes gig in Brum. Decisions Decisions...

The gig info is from NME, radio & cd stuff from the Web site & NME.
Just how many times do you intend to go see TWP on their current
tour....?
Stuart

1325.15 | | CHEFS::FIDDLER_M | The sense of being dulls my mind | Wed Feb 07 1996 11:09 | 13 |
| TWP - not sure, I'll be at the REading gig, and the Leeds show in April
for sure. I might go and see them in London in Feb also, and I was
thinking of driving up to Brum for the show on the 27th, but its a long
way and I'm an old man...
If they did a few more local things (Oxford/Bristol/whatever) I'd see
them there also. Its my one time of the year for enjoying myself, I'm
house bound for the rest of the time. I'm starting to feel my age a
little at these small sweaty venue gigs.
sad really

I think it was my wife who did the insulting, I have no memory of the
conversation. But then I have very little memory of the evening after
the Weddoes...and I certainly dont recall insulting women in the Taxi
Rank.
If you have any insults you would like me to pass on....

| Hippy,
You are on dangerous ground.
Top gig last night but I'm still too thrilled by the whole evening
to tell you about it. Other than to say that the support act,
Tortoise, were crap. Mikef will no doubt be able to fill in the details
at some point.

| To put you all out of your misery, the support band - Tortoise - had
some problems, and didn't get on stage until 10:45 or so (instead of
9). There seemed to be a lot of people waiting for them - the main
floor was packed, but the crowd kind of drifted off after ten minutes
without anything resembling a tune.
Myself, Stuart, and my wife had to talk garbage to each other for two
hours or so waiting for Stereolab (and I dont think she said anything
much about Stuarts T shirt?), who turned up at 11:45, which is about
the time us oldsters like to be in bed.
Stereolab aren't the most exciting of bands live...we drifted off after
a little while.
We did get to see one of the girls behind the bar perform the 'nearly
got two crisps in one mouth trick...' tho, which made the evening.

| Anybody else decided to buy `Emperor Tomato Ketchup'? A great album this one,
your typical Stereolab sound but with a funky bass line. What more can I
say? Groovy, man.
