| Sally was Mikes sister...the singer was a girl by the name of Maggie
Reilly. She did quite a bit of singing for Mike, originally as a
backing singer on the Platinum tour of 1980 I think. From a distance
and in bad lighting, I can see how you could mistake her for Kirsty
(you mean there is a song she didnt sing on????).

sister, his common-law wife was also called Sally. They split up in
about 1984 when Mike ran off with Anita Hegerland, one of his female
vocalists. None of whom were Maggie Reilly.

Extremely bad lighting. In fact total absence of light would be needed
to mistake Maggie for Kirsty. Unless, of course, Kirsty's been pigging
out on cream cakes and choclates lately.

(surprisingly) and appeared on the album 'QE2'. Actually, there was
a track called 'Sally' on the album 'Platinum', which was named after
his wife, Sally, or was it his sister, Sally? Anyway, there were two
versions (at least) of this song, one much sillier than the other and
talking about Gorillas from Manilla.

| Just as a note - the original version of the song Sally can be found on
early versions of the Platinum album. These can be identified by the
matrix number scratched in the runout grooves of side 2 ending with the
characters B1. Later versions, with the second version of Sally end in
B3 onwards...

| The pre-recorded cassette version of Platinum retained the original
(silly) version of Sally long after B3 vinyl was released. A bit like
the alternative Sailors Hornpipe (with the late Viv Stanshall) which
was dropped from Tubular Bells, but made it onto the Boxed version (in
quadrophonic no less).
And then there was always the US import version of Platinum, called
Airborn. That retained the side 1 running order, but completely mucked
about with the side 2 track listing...

The vocalist on Earth Moving (the track, not the album) was Nikki
Bentley of B-Force. Afraid that I don't have any idea what else she has

| A bit late I know but I went mad and got married...
The said song is indeed by Tricky (from a Public Enemy ditty) and the singer
is called Martine.

| I have just been asked by she-who-must-be-obeyed if I could identify
the following current chart song. Its sung by a male, and the chorus
contains the line "I swear I left her by the River" and is believed to
be called "Hazard".

| Current song? It was out years ago! It is called Hazard, although
I'm not sure who recorded it, possibly Marc Cohn.

| The evil incarnate that Hazard is, was unleashed upon an unsuspecting
world 3 years ago, I know because I was working in a hotel near Cardiff
Airport at the time (I had just graduated=no money=do badly paid job)
and Red Dragon Radio made sure it was played twice an hour.
I reckon he did kill her you know.
