| Jimmy Sommerville (ex-Communards) did a version of it a few years
ago with Marc Almond (ex-Soft Cell) - I think.

of the original group, and done by some techno wizz.

It's done by "The Perfecto Allstars" - who I think are Oakenfold et al.
It's called "Reach Out" (I think)

No, I'm pretty sure the vocalist is a female (but then J.S's voice is
pretty high).
HMV reckoned that it was Sunshine.... by New Atlantic, but I don't
beleive them).

On a historical note, Pigbag featured Neneh Cherry, who went on to
greater things. They were part of an earlier Bristol scene and were
pretty damn good. I'm sure I heard Beeb2 using a Pigbag track as
incidental music the other night.
Anyway, the point I wanted to make was it wasn't original to them, or
the name wasn't anyway, being a thinly-disguised reference to James
Brown's "Papa's got a brand new bag". Which is a weird title any way you
look at it and doubtlessly means something filthy, at least I hope so.

I think it was Rip RIg and Panic who featured Neneh Cherry, I'll double
check for u tonight. I remember grooving to both bands at Reading Uni
in the early eighties. The Pigbag tune turns up all over the place,
and I recently picked up a 'best of 'Pigbag cd for 3.99 in Woolies.

| FYI the theme for the test cricket has been used on Saved which is by
Mr Roy. This tune has been around for a few months now. It is on the
Fresh label and the sample in question has been used constructively and
isn't tacky sounding.

| Another point. It isn't rave music. It is club music. There is a huge
difference in the two styles of music.

| Soft Cell/Jimmy Sommerfield version goes on for about 14 minutes on the 12" with
them changing song halfway through. I will find out over the weekend when I
search through collection.
Being a sad old(ish) git I have all Soft Cell's 12" inch singles when they came
out in a special box set in Virgin years ago. Cracking stuff. Also saw it
performed during the encore at the Hammersmith Palais on the last Soft Cell
tour about 6 month before it was released.
God I feel old...

1. I Feel Love was recently (OK, 1992) re-recorded for the NME 40th
anniversary bash by Curve. It's on the double CD the NME released at
the time.
2. I Fell Love was recorded as a single by Bronski Beat, then
re-recorded with Marc Almond for the 12". The 12" also features a
very long version with "Johnny Remember Me" woven into the middle of
it.
3. The sog has doubtless been recorded many dozens of time over by
other bands/artists, but those are the two I have...
