    Don't you just love pub/club entertainment? Bands decked out
    in a matching suits with red shirts (usually), singers with that 
    incredible nasal whine and/or Cleo Laine type mumblings, an inability 
    to sing into the microphone properly and onstage patter learnt from 
    watching Tony Bennett/Frank Sinatra concerts. And of course, IMHO, 
    the piece de resistence; the Yamaha/Bontempi home organ with all 
    it's splendidly awful drum patterns, of which the latin or salsa 
    tempos are killers. 
    
    The definitive pub/club Top Ten of all time? In no particular order.
    
    Country Roads
    Begin the Begin
    My Way
    Anything by Whitney Houston  
    The Way We Were
    Jumbilia (if that's the title)
    Anything by Gloria Estefan (preferably an upbeat Latin number)
    Blue Spanish Eyes. 
    The song that starts with "Take the ribbon from your hair.." What
    is that called????

	Does anyone remember a pub band in London From 10 years ago that had 'vomit' in the title.. its been annoying me all week. or was it "<someone> and the vomits".

	There was a band on tour in the US about 10 years ago called The Vomit Pigs. Maybe thats the one. re:0 So you've seen my band then? :-)

	One o' me all time favourite club songs of all time has got to be "One day I'll fly away" or "Ha-one dayyyyy Ahh-ll Flayyyy Awayay" in pub singer-ese. And another one that registers high in the cabaret chart is Manilow's meister-piece, "Copacabana". After me "Her name was Lola....." Vince Acapulco Pontins' top light entertainer, Bognor.

	re . 5 There was band based in Southampton which played a bit in London called "Vester and The Vomits". They are still about in Southampton in various disquises. James
