Simply Red kicked off their 'Stars' tour in Dublin last night at the
Point Theatre. It's a two year tour after which the band apparently
will take a five-year break ( I'm in the wrong job ).
The concert itself was a sell-out. It was a two-part affair with the
first hour having a distinctly mellow flavour about it. They retired
for a '10 minute break' which lasted for approximately 30 minutes.
The second half of the show lasted about 40 minutes in which they
really rocked the house with both old stuff and new.
The band sounded excellent on stage. Mick looked great , letting his
hair down for the second half just in case anybody in the audience had
brought their greasy pans along - one wipe from that red mass would
scour any surface!!
They band got tremendous applause form the crowd - quite deafening in
fact. Their encore was two songs long after which they disappeared into
the darkness of the stage. I hope Mick's white-stretch limo didn't
have to spend as long as we did trying to get out of the security car
park.
Rating: Excellent. Preferable to bring a partner. You need someone to
keep supplying you with lighter fuel......

I'm going to see Simply Red in Holland, March 19th.
I am really looking forward to it. I saw them 2 years ago
and that's still one of the best gigs I ever saw!

I tried to get tickets for the Wembley show but unfortunately its
a sell out. Apparently, they will soon announcing an extra date
at Wembley Stadium.
If anyone gets to hear of the date, can they put something in here
please?

Sorry to hear you've had problems trying to get hold of 2 tickets.
But guess what, I have 2 and want to get rid of them now... shall I
try selling them to myself?
If anyone is interested I have managed to get hold of 2 Simply Red
tickets for July 11th at Wembley Stadium. However, I now can't go
- would anyone like to buy them off me at a most excellent price
of 23 pounds each (20 quid + booking fee).
Or anyone want to swap a Wembley Arena date for a Wembley Stadium
date?
