957.1 | At least I think we're talking about the same person | ARRODS::WHITEHEADJ | Do *you* know Boko Fittleworth? | Tue Jan 07 1992 10:22 | 5 |
| I'm glad someone else remembered her name. I couldn't. I saw her on
one of Jonathan Ross's shows the other week, I don't know the name of
the song she sung but it was brilliant. Anyone else know?

| The album is pretty good I think. Perhaps a sort of 90s Kate Bush. I do
get the impression that many more albums in this format would be boring
though - almost all the songs are piano/vocals, plus some (limited)
strings. However, that said, it works well for this album.

| Saw her at Reading University this evening. Pretty good. Just her on
stage playing an electric piano, but sounded great. Couple of overheard
comments on the way out: "never seen anyone put so much emotion into
their songs" ... "very strong voice".
Thanks to Andy L for the 'phone call telling me she was there tonight!

Yeah i saw that concert to, i think the album is a waste of time, i
just wish i had a walkman with me and had recorded her live. I don't
know what they did to the album, but the woman writes great songs and
knows how to sing them, perhaps a change of producer?

| I'm surprised you liked her live and don't like the album - any special
reason why? The album isn't prefect, but it's pretty damn good for a
debut album. Having said that, it's much more difficult to do a solo
act with just a piano live than it is to record a studio album, so
perhaps more credit is due for the live act.
I was amused by her choice of the two covers she did in the live set
(and, incidentally, by her decision not to sing "China", which is
her current single): the covers were "Can't get enough of your love"
and "Angie" (did she sing "Andy"? I wasn't sure).
