Anybody know anything about a German group called The Mysterious Art? I happend to hear a record in a store on Saturday, liked the song so much that I bought it. It's called The Omen by The Mysterious Art. They sound very much like the old Propaganda with Claudia Brucken. All I can find on them is there names (2 girls (Nicole Boeuf and Stephanie Trautman) and 3 blokes). The song, The Omen, is wonderful. Lots of spooky music, screaming, (very much a la Dr Mabuse by Propaganda) and on the 12" version an excerpt of Alfred Hitchcock saying "How do you do, Ladies & Gentlemen, this is music to be murdered by"! Any info would be greatly appreciated. Jane.

The song I have, The Omen, is sung in English with a very strong German accent. Presumably, they can and do sing in German. I'd like to buy an album of their's, if they've released one. | |||||

Sounds my type of music ! > > What label are they on ? Peter, The Mysterious Art are/were on the CBS label. They are German and on the back of the Omen 12", it says to write to somewhere in Germany for further info which I intend to do. I tried on Saturday to get hold of Das Omen, the german mix, which was available as a CD single and 12". But...all the record of the Omen (which is actually Part 1) were deleted in January 1990. But... I managed to get hold of the 12" version of "Carma - The Omen Part 2". Just as good though not quite as spooky as Part 1 with lots of (p)opera type chanting. The place I got the records from was Adrians in Wickford, Essex. They are one of the biggest record/tape/CD/video shop in the South. They state that if you can't get a record at Adrian's, you probably can't get it anywhere. Jane |
