Bernard or Barney as he sometimes calls himself, tends to use
whatever surname he fancies at the time.

He is undoubtedly the cutest guitarist/singer in the world.
People say he can't sing, but he wasn't meant to be the lead
singer in New Order. When Ian Curtis "left" Joy Division,
Bernard was elected lead singer for New Order. I personally
think his voice has a rare quality not often heard these days.
Quite a few singers around could take lessons from him. And
his guitar playing is second only to Peter Hook's bass guitar
playing, most evident on The Perfect Kiss.

The most outstanding quality of Bernard and New Order is their
preference to play live at least 99% of the time, although some
of the backing tracks have to be pre-recorded. They deserve
an award for playing live, regardless of whether they happen to
be in tune at the time or not. A lot of current bands could
take a few lessons from New Order.

I don't rate Barney as a guitarist, but I think Hookey is the best
    bassman!
