Chicopee is a GREAT golf course!!! Designed by Geoffrey Cornish who did both
tracks at Stowe Acres. He also did Hickory Ridge, in Amherst (where he's from).

Chicopee is very similar to Stowe North in that the holes are virtually unto
themselves. Lots of woods like Stowe. Greens are huge with few undulations,
all of them breaking back to front. It's also a very lush course, which means
not alot of roll in the fairways.

====  ===  =====  ===========================================================
  1 4 410 Straight away, don't go right - there's a stream.

2 5 525 Big dogleg left, 200 yrd carry over the bunker.

  3 3 165 Mediocre par 3, putts are straight.

4 4 365 Dogleg left, don't use a driver. Severe green, do NOT go
                  past the pin.
5 4 425 Hardest tee shot around, OB on left, be happy with bogey.

6 4 365 Stay left of the big tree, sidehill lie, Severe green.

7 5 595 3 wood if tee is up, water at the bottom of the hill, stay
to the right of the 2 big trees. 2nd shot over another hill,
3rd shot farther than it looks. GREAT HOLE!!!!
  8 3 185 3 putts galore.

9 4 325 Stay left of big tree, down hill to green. Reachable in 1.

10 4 365 Dogleg left. Hug the trees on the left (OB there).

11 3 165 One of the easier holes, tough green though.

12 4 425 Long hole, severe green. Smile after your bogey.

13 4 340 Easy hole. Straight over the hill.

14 4 395 Stay left of the bunker.

15 5 545 Straight away. Westover Air Force Base on the left.
		  Reachable with 2 big hits.
16 3 155 Wide green, not deep, bunkers in front.

17 5 595 Great hole, water on the left. 3 shots.

18 4 365 Water surrounding tee, stay right of the big tree.
		  Green is very deep.

    Take the Rt. 291 exit (Springfield/Chicopee) I believe it's exit 6

when you go through the toll booth(pay first) you will be facing
a hotel/bowling alley. turn right onto Burnett Rd.
follow Burnett Rd. about 2 miles, Chicopee CC is on your left.
You will pass Steve's driving range which is about a half mile
    before the course.

    have fun

    re .2

Your right. Chicopee is a GREAT course. One of the best public courses
I've ever played. I thought it was better than Stow, and you can't beat
the price. Your description of the holes helped, but it didn't take
long to figure that they were from the white tees. The course plays
    long from the blues.

I just played Chicopee last week. Fabulous course!

I thank 778.2 for the cheat notes. The were excellent. Couldn't
beat the $10 greens fee's for a course that put Stow North to
    shame.

     I am a 13 handicapper and carded a 44 front and a 41 back for an 85.
Largely due to the course description. Can't wait to play it again.

    Dave,
    Nice score!!
I think we can pretty much figure out what 41 + 44 comes out to.
We'll have to play Chicopee sometime.
