| You run it really rich.
Then to get the flame, some folks would use a form of spark plug to
light up the unburnt mixture.
I have no idea how to wire something like this, or if you can rig
up an electronic carb control with a touch off button. That way
you don't run rich all the time, just when you want to be cool.
he-heh... beevis... check out that hog.... he-hee-heh.. It's
farting flames man... coooooollll.... 8^)

| I asked this same question to some custom-type guys who had their cars
rigged for this. One thing they all said was that what works on one car
may not work on the next BUT they did offer one "rule"...
The exhaust must be COMPLETELY sealed - i.e. no air leaks at any of the
joints - otherwise KABOOM!!! - the flame goes where you don't want it.
They don't run the engine rich but rather they rev the engine and flip
the ignition off on the engine and on at the tailpipe simultaneously.
This causes unburned gas to go through the engine where it is ignited
at the tailpipe.
I've seen different versions but this was the most common - where the
engine is revved and flipped off but I have seen a few that appear to
divert one or two plugs' spark - i.e. the engine runs rough while the
flames are on.

If I find out before anyone else, I'll update my own note. I need
specifics. Parts, controls, assembly.
Thanks.....

| Andy, are you aking this question for a friend/former co-worker of
ours? Why can I picture this friend blowing 40 yards of fire out of his
HD?

No, not him, but I wouldn't eliminate the idea. It is for one
of my 'sick' friends, in comparison, so you can imagine. ;-)

This guy must be a dreamer or a wannabe 'cause doing it that way is a sure
fire way to blow off a muffler or two when the ignition comes back on again.
The way it's done (short of using something like propane) is to 1.) turn on
the spark plug in the tail pipe. 2.) rev the engine to get some velocity
built up in the tailpipe and on the flywheel. 3.) yank the choke out and
pump hell out of the throttle to get the accelerator pump to keep dumping
raw fuel into the barely running engine.
The pros use propane (under pressure, obviously) and light it off first
with the choke/revving engine, then, when there's a flame at the mouth of
the tail pipe, they open the propane valve.

Thanks, he'll love this information. I should have just asked
