72.1 | 351C Maverick = Musclecar | CXCAD::SOMERS | | Fri Aug 30 1991 09:44 | 15 |
| Tom, thanks for adding this note. I realize that stock Mavericks are
not musclecars. But, there is no reason that we can't start where Ford
left off. My first car was a 1972 Maverick Grabber with a 302-2v and a
C4 tranny. I've liked them ever since. I've been modifying Mavericks as
long as I've owned them. I've ran numerous combinations of mild & wild
302's, 351W's and now a 351C. Most people don't realize that a Maverick
has the same chassis design as the popular 64-1/2 thru 66 Mustang. This
means that a lot of components interchange, ie engines, trannys,
brakes, anti-sway bars, etc. They really are overlooked sleepers.

Eric,
Sorry - but I disagree. 351C + *ANYTHING* = Musclecar. 8^)
Yes, the Maverick is often overlooked, but can be modified to
serious Muscle status.

| Hi,,,
RE: last couple.... Yes you can modify a maverick to go fast, but
then you have to be SEEN driving it... (-:

| Brian, come on admit it, that smile on your face told me that you
didn't mind being seen driving the Mav. In fact, it probably reminded
you of driving your car. (minus 2 second, plus 18 mph) :^)

72.5 | The challange is in building it from the ground up | WFOV11::KOEHLER | Fantasy Factory frensy | Wed Sep 04 1991 09:16 | 7 |
| The Mav. was a nice car to modify. But the challange of building an
early Falcon is even more inviting.

I hope...:-)

| Don't worry, Jim. Eric is a Ford man (except for the Jeep and Chrysler that
he owns). :-)
