I am new to this notesfile, but I'd like to announce my interest in writing some software for patch editing (Yamaha DX7/TX7 , Korg, Casio(?)) and for multitrack MIDI sequencing. It will be in C - and on a machine still to be determined - if there were a MIDI card for the RAINBOW I'd love to work there - (please let me know if anyone has come up with something along that line). I'll probably end up on an Atari ST (68000 machine with MIDI port included) or a PC clone. I'm primarily a guitar player who is justifying the acquisition of these new keyboard (toys) based on experience with recording and computers that says I can do something worthwhile with them even without the normal depth of formal training. Whatever happens I'm going to have some fun making some original music and working out some useful software. I'd like to meet some other people with some similar interests - so please reply if there is something that you're doing that lines up with any of this. Dave Hallowell APO2/F2 289-1564

You might want to take a look at note 162.8 as well as the associated discussions with it. I don't know whether or not to be discouraged! Good luck, Ed BTW, the advice I got in a previous note I entered really helped me out. There's a lot of expertise out there to draw on. |
