| get a hold of yourself Bernie, go down Carling to the Crappy tire @
Carlingwood, spend that Canadian Tire money then keep heading east
and buy a 12 pack of Export. Crack one open, get behind the wheel and
pretend its the good old days....

Bernie,
The problem is your perception, you pass through a customs
gate when you enter Bayshore, you are actually in Bayshore
territory of New Zealand. Not too much hockey there but
most store do carry boom-a-rangs.
Brian is correct, Carling-Wood is compltely Canadian, beer
and hockey pucks abound.
Oi,
Charlie

| Carlingwood sounds promising but what about the bacon?
Actually your responses are typically Canadian..."oh well, lets try
somewhere else". I'm sick of this. It's about time we took up
arms. Before you know it, we'll have to go to Sweden for our hockey
gear and we'll have to wear those helmets that look like minuature
garbage cans. Where are we heading? Look at Bayshore, not only do they not
sell hockey stuff or take Canadian Tire money, but they even replaced
the religious store, "Miracle Mart" with that American junk distributor
"Wal Mart". I'm just thankful that I didn't need snowbags.
Gawd! Next thing you know we'll be forced to drink Bud and instead
of "Jos Louis" cakes, we'll be eating "twinkies". It's depressing!
By the way, why do they bother making Bud Light?
Boycott Bayshore,
Bernie.

| if you wish something other than 'typical Canadian responses', why
are you asking in the Canadian notes file eh? Go ask in the Swaheli notes
file.
If you want a real good hockey stick, you still have to go down to the
local outdoor rink and steal it from a smaller kid. Let the kid's dad
go to Wal Mart and buy the next one.
Live and let live
or else.
(ps the Tie Store @Bayshore doesn't carry snowbag ties either)

| Saw in the paper that John Labbat Ltd was bought up by Stella Artois, the
Belgian brewer ... Then wasn't Molson owned by Fosters ... And wasn't
Carling O'Keefe bought by Molson ... That leaves no major Canadian brewery
owned by Canadians ...

| Brian,
You really disappoint me. Here I am, trying to help you see the light
and you want me to go to some other conference. Wake up man! You of
all people should know, being born in Chapeau just a few kilometers
from the birthplace of my mother in law and having been brought up
in the Big Nickel, Sudbury, home of Mike Foligno and Canada's greatest
swimmer ever, Alex Baumann.
From your last note is see that you're finally seeing the light. What
next! Canada Packers, Canadian Airlines, Hookers Beavertails? Even the
Canada Cup has been messed up with as it's now known as the World Cup
with games being played in Europe and the U.S. of A. Is nothing sacred
anymore? Actually, don't worry about Molson and the rest of the
breweries. Most of us are now brewing our own so it was a good idea to
dump these companies. I hear that the Grand Canal project will ensure
for years to come that we have adequate supplies of water for our brews.
And as I expected, nothing in the budget yesterday to save our butts.
At the very least, I was expecting a GST exemption on hockey equipment
and a border crossing surcharge for anyone entering Bayshore.
Save our bacon, burn Bayshore.
Bernie.

| The "Hookers Beavertails" sounds interesting, I'll take 2 to go.
You are being very un-canadian by getting upset and quite frankly,
I'm hurt over here. I don't like your tone. I'm taking my stick and
puck and I'm going home to listen to Lloyd read the news.

| This reminds me when driving from Detroit to Sarnia, arriving at the
northern end of I94 in Port-Huron, there was two road signs in a row:
1) "Bridge to Canada"
2) "Hookers Entrance"
(actually, it was the drive-in entrance of a burger joint).

| Speaking of Beer... Is 'Sleemans' Canadian owned? Anybody out there know?
I have fallen in love with Sleeman's Dark! I use to drink Canadian,
but have switched up. I also have a fix for Corona, I know it is Mexican,
but it sure beats any American piss beer.
But if you want a wholesome Canadian brew, try Hart Amber, brewed in
the lovely town of Carleton place. Also you can pick it up on Sundays
at the brewery.
Regards,
Hossman

the incompatible bottles.
I like the Cream Ale.

| Guelph is a cool place, I lived there for two years. The one thing that
struck me was the disproportionate number of retired mafia millionares.
Maybe because Guelph is 50 min from Tarranna and 35 min from the much
more desirable berg of Hamilton, that makes Guelph a cozy little get
away. But, the Speed River? Sorry people that is not river it's a
gutter. Hey! where does Sleemans get their water? Ah who cares, I like
their Lager espeacially on a long warm summer evening.

One of the US Breweries put a lot of money into Sleemans (Stroh's, I
think) but I think Dale Sleeman still has majority interest.
A few years back when I stopped at the Brewery the owner's car was out
front. At least there was a Roll-Royce with a custom Ontario "Beer"
license plate in the lot, and I was the only person in the store.
Never could figure out where a start-up business owner would get that
kind of extra $$ that early. Hmmmmm...

where did he get the money? thats easy: he probably had a paper route
when he was a kid, then of course there is the fairly fairyish toof
fairy. But seriously, he probably got the money by begging on the
street or cheating on welfare--that's how people git rich ain't it?

| once--just once, i dont want to give you any ideas, but, once i counted
the number of bubbles on the surface of a bottle of sleemans lager.
what i found out, as the warm summer afternoon warmed the case that
reposed beside me, was that as the temperature of the beer began to
rise the number of bubbles decreased as the bubbles became ever so
slightly larger.

Forget finger printing, wackie tabackie stuff and unity.
Here's a real sign that this country is going down the tubes!
So I'm on my way to the hockey rink last night. No, not to play in
the Stanley Cup but to play in my Summer hockey league. I've got about
a 20 minute drive and every self respecting Canadian knows that the
Stanley Cup finals are on. I press the seek button on the car radio
so that I can listen to the action between the Flyers and the Red
Wings. Hmmm, it's not on FM. Let's try AM. What!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!
THE GAME IS NOT ON THE RADIO! NOT EVEN on CEEBEECEE!!! Mind you I was
able to tune in to TWO EFFFEN BASEBALL GAMES!!! Who cares about
baseball. Actually listening to baseball while driving is
dangerous...it puts you to sleep!
Last year I told you guys and gals that we were in trouble (see .0).
First the equipment disappeared from the stores and now the game is no
longer on the radio.
The preservation of our National game should have been an election issue!!!
Bernie.
P.S. In case you were wondering, I finally managed to get hockey
equipment thanks to a Finnish outfit. You order by catalogue. Now I,
like many Europeans, also have a helmet that looks like a garbarge can!
