DIGITAL
Software Product Libraries and Online Documentation Libraries
For several years, Digital has distributed software products for
VAX[TM] and Alpha platforms on compact disc (CD-ROM). Utiliz-
ing our software licensing technology, the License Management
Facility (LMF), Digital has been able to offer product libraries
on CD-ROM.
The offerings are available as "binaries only," "documentation
only," or as "library packages," which include both binaries and
documentation.
Changes are coming that will enhance some current offerings and
also add new offerings. The following sections describe these
changes and provide a complete list of all the consolidated
software and online documentation products and services for VAX,
RISC, and Alpha Systems.
Enhanced Offerings (No New Order Required for Service Customers)
Beginning in December '96, the OpenVMS VAX "binaries-only"
and "library package" offerings will be enhanced to include
the complete operating system kit. The enhanced offerings are
indicated by a plus sign (+) in Table 1.
New Offerings (New Part Numbers Must Be Ordered)
Also beginning in December '96, the complete operating system
kits will be combined with layered product kits for OpenVMS
Alpha and Digital UNIX[R]. The combination of operating sys-
tem plus layered products will ship quarterly, on the current
schedules. OpenVMS Alpha or Digital UNIX customers may request
the new part numbers indicated by an asterisk (*) in Table 1.
