	I've never been satisfied with the answers I've recieved on many
subjects.  I've always felt there was more to explain and I find the psychic
realm has come closest to filling these empty answers.  I also feel that the
psychic is the closest thing in relation to "The Meaning Of Life".  I read
the "Life" notes but it always gets into a battle of semantics without gaining
anything.  I've been reading about psychic phenomena for years and concider it
a new frontier for exploration and careful experimentation.  It may hold some
key answers to mastering our physical plane as well as spiritual.

	I have always worked to expand my "sphere of knowledge" and find
that the so-called scientific explanation of some happensings just "don't
cut the mustard".  There are indications that the broad field of psychic
phenomena might be able to provide new insights.  I believe that it should
be carefully investigated.  My primary interest is in the multiple spheres
of existance area, a la Seth; and in the study of, but not participation in
witchcraft.  I have had enough personal experience (as an observer) to be
convinced that the Ouija board is a lot more than a toy activated by the
players mind.  From my observations, it does in fact appear to be at least
one way to open a window to other existences.

I have studies various aspects of "the occult" for years, primarily as
such as Paracelsus, Alburtis Magnus, and others of that ilk did: not to
"deny" scientific knowledge, but to complement it.

In my studies, I've perceived that, in accordance with Sturgeon's Law,
90 percent or better of the stuff written in the field is "junk" (he used
a stronger word) and that some of what isn't is often dangerous to deal with
unless the experimenter is adequately prepared.  I'm concerned that all too
often people don't try to separate the wheat from the chaff but swallow
everything.  Paracelsus had a lot to say about such an attitude when writing
of Aristotle, Galen, et al. in the preface of_The Archidoxies of Magic_.
He wasn't wrong, but he could have said it less trenchantly.

This is a very interesting notesfile. I remember notes (long ago, in a far 
off galaxy, I think probably Soapbox) dealing with strange happenings at
different locations, such as 'haunted houses' and haunted woods. I will

I consider myself a part-time parapsychologist (most parapsychologists are
part-time, there is very little funding available), and have done published
scientific research in the field.  My orientation is very much scientific.
I think much (though not all) of what passes of "psychic" (for example, Seth)
is either fraud or self-deception.  I am willing to be convinced otherwise in
any particular case, but I ask for reasonable, objective evidence.

As many of you here, I wish to explain what I cannot explain away.  Interests
and involvements include being a copious dreamer (yes, often in color) and
student of my dreams, particularly via Archetypal Psychology (Jung, Hillman,

This notes file is fascinating to say the least.  It is quite obvious that
there are quite a few learned and learning students of this mystique We call
by many names but mostly referred to as psychic phenomena.  

I have been "involved" for many years and have experienced Astral Travel,
Precognition, Mental telepathy.  I have seen my spirit guide, have had
my family visited by spirits (not the most pleasant experience.) and have
delved in the tarot, psycometry and even the Ouija Board (a long time ago).

I have undergone changes in feelings and expectations regarding this subject.
mainly, it is my feeling that this area of study is only the lower level of
a plane of awareness and that beyond this there is more....much more.

I am guided by the light as I believe all of us are.  In addition, I believe
nothing happens by chance and that the ultimate reason is growth and developmentresulting in the asscencion of the spirit.  Back to God.  I believe this file
is serving more purpose than that of just informing, amusing or teaching.  I
believe there are many of us that have been and are being enlightened. 

When I need to escape the rigors of this job, I turn to this file and find
confort knowing there is a network with ideas and understanding that are
a cut above the unusual.

I'm Kent Harnois. I am a software engineer with TSG in Marlboro (LMO4),
and I live in Boston.

I am a frequent reader of this notes file, although I don't often 
contribute. I am fascinated by the subject, even though
I would tend to dismiss a lot of what I've heard as quakery, forgery,
or deception. I hasten to add that I don't think that this is the case
with most of what is written in this file. I also must add that I've never
experienced anything directly that would fit into the catagory of
paranormal, but I'm not a "doubting Thomas" either.

I do believe that there is something out there. I cannot explain 
everything satisfactorally in the sense of physical laws. I believe
that there is more to the mind than we currently know, and maybe it 
is within the realms of these physical laws and just can't be explained 
in terms of these laws at this time. I don't think so, I tend to believe 
in things like ESP (clairvoyance and telepathy).

In terms of the spiritual world, I tend to think of things in terms 
of a collective social conscious rather than the remenents of people
now deceased running around talking to us, the living, but I'm not so 
sure. 

I do enjoy all of this discussion and am fascinated by the experiences
that have been shared. I look forward to the continued discussions in
this file.

    To this day when I am angry or upset, I get a black "click" in my

    break.  Disbelieving made this worse, not better, and meditation

    reader, enjoy Quabala, Sufi, Jungian psych., Crowley (with a shaker
    of salt), know many Wiccans, and sometimes do healing.  I am a

I've been interested in most of the topics that come up in this file for as long
as I can remember.  I suppose that astrology is my "first love" ... I'm an Aries
with Gemini rising and a Libran Moon who has lived  through  both  first  Saturn
Transit  and  Uranian  Opposition ... I expect to see about 5 more of the former
and one more of the latter.  (I plan  to  live  to,  at  least,  180  this  time
around.)

Lately (past year or so), I've  had  some  experiences  that  seem  to  be  pre-
cognitive,  so  my interest in that has increased.  I've found correlating these
perceptions with responses to the I Ching to be particularly fascinating. 

In the past few months, my wife,  Linda,  has  begun  meditating  and,  thereby,
experiencing (what sound to me like) oobe's and remembering past lives.  Linda's
also become interested in  crystals  and  bought  me  a  nice  rose  quartz  and
aquamarine necklace (to calm me down ... it seems to help).  We purified it and

    I am extremely sceptical, because I suspect three things are true
    
    	(1) Lots of things (eg: bumps in the night) happen at random,
    	    and people selectively remember those that are "ghosty"
    	    rather than those that are not.
    
    	(2) The human mind is NOT a reliable source, but a chemical
    	    bag of tricks.  In particular it is impossible to reliably
    	    separate a person's dreams at night from actuality (have
    	    you ever dreamed you woke up and seen something that
    	    isn't in fact happening? I have...)  Also I have learnt
    	    not to trust any decision made between about 1:30am and
    	    4:30aam, because I have noticed that in that time my sense
    	    of values and logic are seriously impaired by sleepiness.
    
    	(3) A lot of people don't want to get negative results, and
    	    don't want to hear them.  Cases in point, Van Danikan,
    	    Velokosvski, and the Bermuda Triangle - all demonstrably
    	    frauds (along with Uri Geller) that are still widely believed
    	    in.

      Fascinated by some of the things that come out of my unconscious
    mind even though I don't pretend to understand completely how the
    conscious part works, either. Three verified telepathic experiences
    with my wife over distances >1000 miles, others harder to verify
    but obviously better than random occurrences with relatives and
    domestic pets, especially my elderly German Shepherd who died last
    year. Neither a believer or disbeliever in God: I guess that makes
    me an agnostic, but there's sufficient evidence available to support
    both his existence and his nonexistence...
      I agree that much of what is written on the "paranormal" appears
    to be a ration of used oats, but still it's very clear there's a
    lot more out there (and/or between my ears) than I can explain or
    define, and I'm interested in gathering the evidence and learning
    to use the tools available to me.  I reject unverifiable accounts
    which start: "Doctor M., a 16th-century English physician..."
    
    

    I've been participating in this file for a couple of weeks now,

    This is the first time I have read this particular Notes file and
    have really been enjoying reading it.  My interest are very varied.
    I am learning Tarot, use I-Ching and Rune's, see Aura's, I have
    3 very persistant protective spirits around me always.  I have a
    warning dream that occurs whenever someone I care about is in danger
    or hurt, I have unwittingly been drawn into Medium situations and
    stay away from that,I find little control or awareness in that) do
    automatic writing, and very often scare the hell out of myself.
    I feel very strongly about the presense of God and feel he is leading
    me in some particular direction.  The hardest thing I have ever
    had to deal with, is admitting I am ok and to admit that I can't
    run forever, now's the time to learn and explore.  I have felt
    presenses  and seen things noone else has.  It's nice to read this
    Notesfile and see that people are studying what I have just begun
    to investigate.  I am glad to see I am not alone.

    I have been interested in the _unexplained_ since pre-highschool.
    A psychology course I took had a few ESP type experiments.  I was
    always fasinated by them.  Most of my friends in highschool were
    also interested in ESP.  Looking back, I think that most of the
    "EVENTS" were self caused or explainable.  Still, there were a few
    things that I have never been able to explain away.  
    
    BTW:  this is my first time reading this notefile.  This is also

    As a kid, I had numerous "prophetic dreams" for lack of a better
    term.  They were all of an innocuous nature however, nothing of
    importance.  As a teen-ager, I dabbled slightly with seances.  Two
    of those produces results, which scarred the heck out of me and
    caused me to abandon active participation in the "occult".
    I have had instances of telepathy .
    
    These days, I have a somewhat scientific and sceptic frame of mind,
    not beleiving all I read, but still feel that "there are more things
    in the heavens and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy,
    Horatio...." or something to that effect. (with appology to Will
    Sheakspear, I beleive)

    and he told women how many children they'd have, what sex, if there'd
    be problems in their pregnancy, etc.  
    
    My mother used to play ESP games with me when doing dishes -- guess
    which number, and even for entertainment when company was around.
    She has prophetic dreams about us kids whenever something dangerous
    may happen to us, and generally knows when we need help even though
    she lives in Maine.
    
    I've had my own share of "psychic experiences", but not so much
    in the past 5-6 years.  I'm in a psychic lull, but I'm always

    I found this notesfile a few weeks ago and have really been enjoying
    it.  I have been interested in the "paranormal" for most of my adult
    life (I'm 39 now).  I am a "student" astrologer (the more I learn
    the more there is to  learn!), have begun to work with the Tarot,
    have sat in a development circle for evidential mediumship (and
    hope to work as a medium someday), have used the I Ching, read all of 
    Castenada's work and most of Seth/Jane Roberts.  I also enjoy the 
    so-called "esoteric" subjects, particularly Alice Bailey's/Tibetan's
    work.  I have also found that readings I have had with psychics/
    mediums in general have been very positive and very helpful.

    Hi,
      I've only recently come into this conference but I intend to read
    it as often as I can. I'm a firm believer in the supernatural and
    have experienced it at first hand. My paternal grandmother was a
    faith healer and a medium, although she kept it to the family and
    close friends, so I was fortunate enough to see it at an early age
    and learn about it without the fear that can come from the unknown.

    and i must say found them quite interesting ....
    I never was a in to  this stuff (except UFO'S or whatever you call
    them ) untill I met someone who'smother is a phycic 
    (sp? can't even spell the topic ...) and
    the woman can come up with stuff that knocked my socks off 
    if she can do it ...others I've met thu her can (both "good" and
    "bad witches) . I've came to the conclusion that some thinks

This is about the only file I read and write to.  I thought it was time
to add my name to the "Who Are You" list.  

I've always been an addicted seeker of greater awareness and understanding,
and a lot of the discussions in this file are very interesting to me.  My
past experiences have offered me countless opportunities (which I took 
without hesitation) to get hopelessly tangled up in my beliefs, so that I
could discover something totally *new* when I got untangled.  It has been a
very....interesting experience.  I enjoy sharing thoughts and experiences 
with other people.  I think we all have something to learn from each other.

This notesfile is also a great place to share MIND-BOGGLING thoughts.  It's

    I believe many things are beyond science - I could talk about this
    for a while, but it's like what Kurt G�del said about mathematics
    being incomplete or inconsistent...
    
    I also think that the mind is capable of many things, including

    than full faith (hence power?).
    
    To top it off, I want to see if there is more to this world than

    I am new to this file - I've always read quite a lot about strange

    I've had a passing interest in the paranormal for quite some time.
    After having a Near Death Experience [drowning in a river], I felt
    something that would later have a great impact on my life.  I was

    I don't really know what direction to go in at this point.  I have

    but over the past few years I have verified that these beliefs are
    consistent with what I know about the physical universe. This
    realization has e-x-p-a-n-d-e-d my mind considerably!
    
    I'm working right now on developing my own power through meditation
    and visualization, trying to get it under control (I recently
    discovered that I had unconsciously sent out eight psychic "suckers"
    that were tapping other folks' energy...I've found where six of
    them go, but not the other two).

  Even though I am firmly embedded in the scientific community, I have a
marked aversion to a purely mechanistic world view.  The scientific reality
is bounded by what is observable and repeatable, and within these bounds
scientific methods are certainly appropriate and valid.  However, many
'scientists' fail to see beyond the self-imposed limits of science to what
is being excluded, and some use the enticing power of scientific 'proof'
(or the lack thereof) as a supposedly unassailable justification for ridicule
of metaphysical hypotheses and/or the people who propose them.

 I took a parapsychology course in college which stressed skepticism and the
scientific method for evaluating paranormal claims while still allowing ALL
hypotheses to be presented, even those that were not 'provable' in a strict
scientific sense, or with current scientific means.  I used to envision using
my experimental sensory psychology training in parapsychological research,
yet now I am content to let 'psi-entists' try to 'prove' the paranormal to
'scientists', while I am satisfied with my own personal proofs.

  While up to now I have been only reading this notes file, I hope to
contribute my own views on a number of topics.  My interests include :

  Esoteric teachings -
	I have extensively read Gurdjieff, Ouspensky, Seth, Cayce and Casteneda.
	I have appreciated exposure to Lazaris' teaching through Frederick.

  Astrology -
	I have had my natal chart for ten years and I have grown commensurate
	with my understanding of it.  I am a consistent astrology 'watcher'.
	I try to always know the moon's sign, when it is void-of-course, when
	major transiting aspects occur, when Mercury is retrograde (like now),
	etc. and I try to learn from 'observing' the effects.  I am also in the
	process of developing a chart calculation and comparison program.

  Reincarnation -
	I may have doubts about the reality of reincarnation in some other of
	my earthly sojourns, but not in this one :-).  The Law of Karma needn't
	be expressed as an eye for an eye, but it is inescapable nonetheless.

  Ancient history -
	I enjoy Egyptian history and anything related to the Dead Sea Scrolls,
	yet I have been particularly affected by the writings of linguist
	Zecharia Sitchin (The 12th Planet, Stairway to Heaven..) who has
	re-interpreted ancient Sumerian cuneiform texts and reached some
	startling conclusions about the Sumerian world view, cosmology,
	historical perspective, and other-worldly (extra-terrestrial) influence.
	The Sumerians' 'history' is commonly considered mythological, yet since
	the Sumerians were the first civilization to record history in writing
	this is an invaluable and arguably accurate glimpse into 'pre-history'.

    I am enjoying the many different aspects and points of view presented
    here in DEJAVU, especially the information on Lazaris which Frederick
    has been kind enough to type in.  It is particularly refreshing
    to see how well everyone is getting along despite our sometimes very
    different opinions on certain (if not most) topics.  One might even
    say this is the start of a true community.
    
    Having been an engineering student in college, I have not had much
    formal exposure to the liberal arts courses such as psychology,
    sociology, philosophy and the like.  Recently I started reading
    the books written by M.Scott Peck and find that his writings make a 
    lot of sense to me.  That is not to say that they will make sense to
    everyone, indeed we are not all at the same place in our various
    stages of development, or even believe in the same things - and that's 
    OK, because if we were all alike, then life would be boring indeed!  
    I look forward to some good discussions on this topic and all the 
    others as well.
    
    I believe that the most important thing we can do for each other is 
    to help ourselves and each other to discover our paths through positive
    discussions and constructive feedback, for this is truly love.
                     
    To quote Peck from 'The Different Drum':
    
    "The key to community is acceptance - in fact, the celebration -
    of our individual and cultural differences.  Such acceptance and
    celebration - which resolves the problem of pluralism and which
    can occur only after we learn to become empty - is also the key

	I, like many others, have been interested in subjects that don't
have a logical explanation, ESP, Tarot, Ouiji, Dreams, etc.  Most of my
interest was during the teen years.  Through years of computers, since
9th grade(1975), I lost most of the interest in those subjects, became
skeptical and closed.  Now after some workshops(I got volunteered for!!
(Hey, who said 'Victim!'):-), outings, a community group, and healings I
have started back into experiencing these and other subjects; crystals,
rituals, dream interpretations, etc.

	I like this forum, what little I have read so far, and hope to

    I have always been interested in the 'supernatural'.  I've read
    many books on ghosts, ESP, witches, etc.  I am mostly interested
    in the spirits.  I have often wondered what it would be like to
    go back in time to see who the people were who originally lived
    in my house (over 150 years old) and what it looked like in it's
    original state.  I have had a couple 'odd' experiences that I have
    mentioned in this file.  The others are great to read.  I guess
    it's kind of comforting to know that you're not 'the only one' who
    has had things like this happen and that you're not cracking up.
    	I'm also interested in UFO's.  I believe that they do exist
    	because I have seen one.

    	I've always been exposed to strange things happening.  Probably
    because of my mother's involvement in the supernatural.  From this
    I've developed an attitude that allows me to accept anything strange
    regardless of how absurd it may sound.
    
    	I must have ESP or something of that nature because quite often
    I know what is going on in other peoples minds.  This works to different
    degrees depending on the person, but most consider it uncanny how
    I know whats going on.
    
    	That is one reason I've been successful selling.
                 
    	It's good to know that I am not alone and that unexplainable

    I sometimes dream in color, and dreams often seem like reality when
    I reflect on their content.  I ''hear'' songs before they are played
    on the radio, or before I turn the radio on.  I often know where
    I am and how to get to an unfamiliar location without directions
    just by intuition.
    
    	Then again, sometimes I am in the dark, can't hear the songs
    when the radio is blaring, and am completely lost.

I have always been a skeptic. I always considered myself a "realist". I
could explain most things and those that I couldn't were bunk. My wife,
Penny, is the opposite. She began meditating a year ago. She was 'drawn'
to it (more bunk). She liked Tarot readings, was very interested in past
lives and felt 'power' in crystals. (C'MON! U KIDDIN ME?) She met people
who got her into native American spirtuality, and I, wanting to share her
interest went to a gathering (reluctantly). Something happened and I
changed. I've replaced a great anger I have been carrying with something
more positive. I meditate, carry a piece of moss agate and wear a crystal
point pendant. I can't explain this, and I can accept other things which
I can't explain.

There is one thing I don't understand though, and maybe someone can
explain... where is DMATE2, and why is it 13:42 here and not there?
Is this conference in it's own odd time zone?

    The whole psychic realm has fascinated me for most of my life. 
    I've had significant experiences with the ouija board, prophetic
    dreaming, past life regression and positive thinking.  I'm interested
    in OBE's, channeling, UFO's and the brain's potential (what can
    the other 90% do?)  Reincarnation interests me in helping me deal
    with death (my own and loved ones), plus dealing with tragic

    I have always had an interest, more in the "esp" class of phenomenonen,
    lesser in the spritual development side of our topic.  My background
    tends towards skepticism, but hopefully a respectful skepticism.
    
    I am convinced that there is more in this area than "standard science"
    can account for.  I guess I would prefer that there be a "standard
    science" explanation for most of it, but, again hopefully, will

Being a rationalist in my early 20's (Master degree in mathematics) to a
true believer of the fact that we can get all information and solutions
we want by Silva Mind Control (in my 40's now). Final goal: to connect

    I think that about covers it.  I'm new to Notes and more a reader
    than a writer.  I first became interested in the "occult" (for lack
    of a better word) about 7 years ago.  I seemed to have no direction
    in my life.  Didn't know why I was here, where I was going, etc.
    When I was at my lowest I met the man I'm going to spend the rest
    of my life with.  Up until that point people in my life always told
    me I was living in a dream world.  He told me it was no dream and
    life could be like I wanted it to be.  It was then I started reading
    and tried to learn as much as possible about everything.  This
    wonderful man and I have been together since and are living together.
    Life has never been so good, even though something throws a monkey wrench
    into the works once in awhile (just to keep things interesting).
    My goal is to leave this world better than when I got here and so
    far it's happening, a little at a time.  Maybe I can't change the
    whole world but I can change my little piece of it.

    I WANT to believe in ESP, Extraterrestrial visitors, reincarnation,and
    other nice things like that...but I just don't.  Crystals make me
    crazy, except as objects invested in "magic" created by the belief
    and imagination of the believer.  The hooey I have heard about the
    principles of physics involved, and the relationship to crystals
    in radios makes me tear my hair.  Sorry if I stepped on toes, but
    "the emperor he's starkers!"  Anyhow, I patiently await something
    confirmable.  I have tested high as a sender (clairvoyance and
    telepathy testing), have had precognition experiences, and a few
    other experiences that I simply must consider coincidences.  At
    the moment, my favorite paranormal world denizen is The Amazing
    Randy, the stage magician who pretty much exposed Uri Geller and
    keeps a $10K cashier's check in his pocket for the first verifiable
    and reproducable paranormal occurance he sees.  We both hope he
    can give that check away.  The world would be much richer and more
    fun if fantasy was real, but wishing doesn't make it so.

     I saw one of the recent notes "reading in Maine" and saw the request
    to intro yourself in note 16. So here I am. I have been reading
    this conference for quite awhile. I am very impressed by the knowledge
    of all the noters. I am fascinated by the wide range of topics.
    	I have been interested and followed astrology since I was 12,
    but I am certainly not adept at it. I have been avidly reading books
    on Paganism, witchcraft and the occult for quite a few year and
    recently started realizing or feeling that all these things are
    some how connected and related. So a got some books on Charkras,
    gemstones, auoras (SP?) etc. Then I found this notes file. It's
    great anything and every thing you need to know!
    	It's also a great inspiration and very comforting to my psyche
    especially on certain days at work.

 Stepping out of the closet. I really enjoy this file. I don't read
many books on the subject, although I did read quite a few when I first
started having experiences I couldn't explain.Many of the books seemed
long on things to believe and short on reasons why I should. I think it
is potentially  harmful to believe things without a good reason.I try to
let the things I have experienced stand alone and not clump them together
in an attempt to form a total concept of reality.I do enjoy speculating
on possibilities however.My personal goal is to grow in true understanding
so I can live more in harmony with myself,others, and the world.  I do 
indulge my heart and hope for some things to be true,but hoping is not 
believing and it shouldn't be.

    Just found this file the other day.  Glad to know that there are
    so many here at DIGITAL with the same interests as I have.  I have
    been interested in psychic phenomena and parapsychology since I
    was very young.  In fact, one of my aunts had a magic cream pitcher.
    Whenever she wanted to see her oldest son, who was in the Air Force
    stationed in another state, she would get the pitcher out of the
    cupboard and put it on the table.  Within an hour, her son would
    be standing in the kitchen!
    
    I've been "seeing" things since I was about 5; unfortunately, they
    aren't always pleasant.
    
    Look forward to being more active in this file once I've learned

    I've been reading for about a year and writing and I just noticed
    this note. ( Does anyone actually read through all 150 replies to
    this note? ) I find most of the topics in here fascinating.  I'm
    surprised to see the variety of topics in this note, I mean we don't
    just talk about psychic phenomena (sp), at least I don't think
    everything in here can be called psychic phenomena.  That's great.
    Some of the topics seem to be about psychology, which also fascinates
    me.  (Is there a psychology conference? )  many of the concepts
    are new to me but I enjoy learning and finding explainations for
    so many unexplained parts of life.

    I am Greg Davis, from the Houston office.  I find myself looking
    into this notes file at the behest of others already involved
    who also participate in the Philosophy conference.  Label me a
    skeptic who has certain doubts about his skepticism... in other
    words, I believe in psychic phenomenon, to some extent.  In fact,
    I feel I possess certain psychic abilities. 

    I do not believe in all of the tangential idealologies that have
    sprung up around the so-called New Age, nor am I likely to be 
    converted.  I may be a source for heated debates on such subjects
    having been closely exposed to them a couple of years ago (as my
    Philosphy brothers will no doubt confirm).
    
    While I try to keep an open mind, I do not accept arguments based
    on nothing more than belief.  I am pragmatic, and some form of
    proof will be required to sway my opinions on esoteric subjects.
    I will make every effort not to 'flame', but I will respond if
    openly attacked... Having so forewarned you, shall we begin our

         I decided that I should officially introduce myself after putting
    it off for so long. I've been reading dejavu for almost 3 months
    now and have written a few things into it as well. My educational
    training is physics (undergrad) and elec. eng. (grad) and I will
    be 30 years old next month. Astrologically I am a sagittarius
    (11/22/57, 3:00 pm). Although I was born in St. Louis, MO, I grew
    up in California and have been in New England since 1980. 
    
         My interests have always been in humanistic and philosophical
    areas--I was a classical pianist for a long time and just before
    college I developed an intense interest in psychology which through
    the years evolved into a total immersion in eastern religions and
    spiritual self-knowledge. I became a vegetarian during this time,
    and am now trying to more or less consciously direct my own growth
    through greater and greater understanding of self and "other". If
    my current career path change takes hold, I hope to go to medical
    school in the not-too-distant future and eventually focus on healing
    from a spiritual/Human perspective. 
    
         I have been wrestling with a number of deep philosophical and
    growth challenges for a long time now and so I always have this
    feeling that I am in a critical period of my life. The thing that
    most fascinates me at this time is the change that humankind is
    now going through, having lived through the sixties and seventies
    in particular, and watching (and learning from) the evolution process
    as it currently unfolds. I consider myself an ultimate optimist,
    whether or not I come across that way, because I believe that we
    having been created in the image of God are in essence perfect and
    unfolding as we evolve. As such, most of what I express is from
    a "subjective", humanistic point of view--a point of view which
    holds the universe(s) as very alive, growing, and purely spontaneous.
    
         This Dejavu notes conference is to me quite valuable as it
    represents the type of global communication/consciousness that
    we are now growing into as a planet. Since I've been in DEC, this
    conference is the most amazing thing that I have seen...

	  about psychic phenomena involving twins.
          
Why I'm here : Curiosity I guess. Although I have never seen, felt or
	       experienced anything I would ever call a psychic phenomena,
	       but the subject has always fascinated me. Well actually
	       that was my original motive....

	       What I have found in this notes_file is some of the
	       most articulate, and honest discussion I've ever
	       heard (read). That in itself is probably enough to keep
	       me around for a while.

    I just found this file a couple of days ago and I have really enjoyed
    it so far.  It makes for a nice cross section of ideas both reaasonable
    and "unreasonable".  I have been reading for the last year and a
    half on anything of this nature and I am looking for anything that
    I can relate to a larger picture rather than focusing on the idea
    of one book.  As someone said earlier in this file "looking for
    pieces that fit together"(or to that affect).  I find that I can't
    seem to finish any of these books.  That's the nice thing about
    this file - it holds my attention.  I am most interested in
    reincarnation, deja vu experiences and anything involving hypnosis
    but will read about anything(or at least half of anything).

    I have had a number of Telepathic Experiences of Non-Verbal Transmission
    of thought that has made me very interested in ESP. I believe actually
    that it is our Human Birthright to be Telepathic but I don't try
    to over emphasize the process as a Pyshic Mountaintop to just sit
    on and just stop there.

    I'm a temp here at MRO1 who,  after 4 months, finally got my  own
    node.  I've been reading  this  notes file  since August and have
    been very happy to find so many like-minded folk.  
    
    After reading some  of the other conferences, it is refreshing and
    very reassuring  to have people in here who are accepting, tolerant
    and respectful of the opinions and  beliefs of others, and who are
    also open-minded and well read on  so many  subjects.  To be able
    to read the contributions  in this conference is  like a  light
    and a  warm place after being out  in  the cold harsh regions of
    a couple of other conferences.
    
    I thank you all for your enlightenment  and your openness and
    willingness to share yourselves.  I have learned much, and hope
    to continue learning  more here as long as I have the chance.

    I've been at Digital for a while, in Software Services for several
    years, and now in LEDS (Low End Disk Systems) as a marketing 
    consultant. I develop marketing programs and conduct marcomm 
    activities which support those programs. 
                     
    I'm interested in metaphysical issues, and so this file has 
    aspects to it that fascinate me. It is a delight to wander 
    through at random, and to find topics and answers from a variety
    of interesting people, some of whom are familiar names and presences
    from other conferences. 
    
    I appreciate the existence of DEJAVU, and the chance to read and

    I am female (for those who might not understand my first name which
    is Wivine and which comes from the Germanic word wiwina which means
    woman.
    
    I am a contractor working with VAX's only. IOSG at Reading, England
    needed somebody to help them with their ALL-IN-1 development and
    I was found well enough for this purpose.
    
    I first came across DEJAVU when I was working in M�nchen. It was
    a great loss for me after my contract ended not to be able to read
    DEJAVU anymore. But a few months later I ended up here.

This has been a time of a lot of changes for me, influences ranging
from a vegetarian housemate to relating to a friend who is seriously ill.
I've found the discussions here thoughtful and thought-provoking,
sometimes comforting, sometimes challenging, considerate and of goodwill.

    I was just turned on to this notes file by a friend downstairs who
    finds and shares magnificent crystals.  I'm into being the best
    that I can possibly be, spiritually, and have found great joy and
    learning through metaphysics.  I believe that we each have a great
    wealth of power available to us, but so very few realize it, and
    others, still, feel it and fear it and assign it evil names.  I
    believe that crystals/minerals/various stones amplify/charge/act
    as mediators for certain energies.  I believe that the answers lie
    within...we simply need to remember how and where to look within

    Hi, my name is Larry and I just got tuned into this notefile a couple
    of weeks ago.  I've been into TM (transcendental meditation) for
    about 17 years and have studied alot of Eastern philosophy along
    the way.  I guess alot of my personal philosophy is influenced by
    Maharishi, and is best summed up in note 613.12.  
    
    I work as a District Network Consultant in San Diego, CA, and have
    been here for about 4 1/2 years.  I am a voracious reader and have
    read alot of different books on psycic phenomena, and related topics.
    
    My interest waxes and wanes depending on how much "free" time I
    have.  Sometimes I get real excited about this stuff and read
    the Tibetian book of the dead, Alice Baily, Carlos Casteneda,
    Yogananda, Vivekananda, Hare Krishna stuff, Vedas, Upanishads, Gita,
    and whatever else I can lay may hands on.  Other times, I just don't
    focus on any of it and just meditate...

    I first became interested in paranormal phenomena about twenty years
    ago, and, from personal experience, can not doubt that there are
    aspects of reality which can not be explained using the natural
    laws we *currently* understand.  My suspicion is that we will
    ultimately find that many of these phenomena have been 'hidden'
    from us only because, at some point in the evolutionary process,
    there was no survival benefit in being aware of them.  What could
    be further from our 'normal' view or reality than relativistic time
    dilation?  Yet, through a leap of the imagination, and the tools
    of mathematics (and accelerators), it has come to seem almost
    intuitive.  Well, I could easily rave on for hours, so I'd better
    conclude this introduction here.

    Although I have been in this notesfile for close to a year and a
    half now, I never quite managed to log into this note. (I spend
    most of my time in notes 27 and 304)
    
    I have always been interested in unexplained phenomena for as long
    as I can remember and have studied and researched UFOs since that
    time.
    
    As an adult I began to separate the "wheat from the chaff" so to
    speak and decided to attempt in achieving my lifelong dream of
    being involved in field investigations. 
    
    In the past 7 years I have managed to work up through the ranks
    in the Mutual UFO Network in Massachusetts(from investigator trainee,
    to investigator and now as director of field investigations for
    Middlesex County, with a possible State Directorship in the near
    future).
    
    I am also a former Associate of the Center for UFO Studies, former
    member:British UFO Research Association, Victorian UFO Research
    Association and former co-editor of the "Aerial/Space Phenomena
    Review, in association COMPUFON (computer UFO Network).
    
    I have been a guest on local radio talk shows and on Radio New England,
    a syndicated program covering over 85 stations throughout the New
    England States, and have also had the opportunities to put on
    presentations on the subject for area groups.
    
    My investigative experiences have included many identifiable cases
    as well as some very puzzling ones and have had the pleasure of
    working as a team member on two local abduction cases.
    
    I have a working knowledge of astronomy, photography and some meteor-
    ology and have a firm (but openly skeptical) belief that there are
    far too many ordinary people reporting extraordinary occurances
    around the world and that even if only one of these incidents are
    true, the phenomena is well worth the time and effort to be analyzed.

    can and probably will happen to all of us collectively before it's

    now. I also feel very comfortable with the Earthmother (Gaia)

    of Magicians.  I perform for many different types of functions and
    
    now am working on doing more close-up magic.  I have over the years
    
    collected  many articles on Ghosts,esp and Haunted Houses, and keep
    
    a continuous file on these phenomena. I have read many books of
    
    the magical variety,including the books by Dr. Rhine on ESP.
    
      I have collected over 500 books on magic and related  topics.

I decided to read through the introductions to learn a little about
the people behind the <NODE::USERNAME>'s.  It was wonderful!  I highly
recommend this to anyone who hasn't done it.  This a great conference and
learning a bit about the contributors I frequently 'see' just made it better.

Cindy mention's community occasionally; well, we certainly got it here and
in many colors.

    Hello All,
    	Thought it about time that I put my 2 cents worth here. As far
    as DEC goes I am a contractor working at ACO in Acton Mass. The
    job is as a technician and QC inspector. The managers here are happy
    with my performance so there is a good chance that I'll get hired
    permanently. 
    	My interests are fairly eclectic, however, my main interests
    are philosophy, metaphysical inquiry, and a spiritual practice that
    includes different types of meditation.
    	My start along these lines was reading the Autobiography of
    a Yogi by Yogananda when I was 18 yrs old. MY reaction after reading
    it was, "Yeah, that's the way it is." My traditional religious
    upbringing as an Episcopalian certainly didn't have much to say
    about this stuff. 
    	So here I am at 44, still crazy after all these years, and looking
    foward to getting crazier still. My pet peeve is misuse of "expert"
    opinion by so called scientists who refuse to admit to even the
    possibiliy that there is more to heaven and earth than what can
    be explained away in their orthodox views of what is. Save the data
    Jeeves, and throw out the troublesome anomalys.
    	I personally have had more than a few non ordinary events occur
    in my life. A notable few are: Having life and limb save in VietNam
    because I somehow read the future and changed a routine which put
    me in a different place than where I would have ordinarily been
    in. Observing my young daughter read peoples minds. Living in and
    visiting numerous haunted houses. Describing a future event down
    to minor details. All the foregoing is anectdotal of course, and
    would mean less than nothing to scientific debunkers. All I can
    say is that these events occured to me.
    	Time to get back to work. Glad that this conference exits.

        I never "registered" in this note, so I am doing it now.
     
        I have now been a temporary employee for 16 months and though
    it has been repeatedly said that my permanent status would be a
    cinch, hiring freezes of one sort or another have not allowed me
    to join the company.  Well, while it is still a probability, maybe
    even after the new fiscal year starts, I am not so certain that
    I wish to remain.  I have been making efforts to stabilize financially
    so that I can eliminate the onus (for me) of working "under" others
    in an elegant manner.  So I don't know how much longer I will continue
    to be around to give skeptics some of their fun (and vice versa.)
         My life history and interests are not of particular value to anyone
    else's growth, so I won't list it (besides, I have alluded to events,
    etc. in many of the notes I have entered.)  I will say that I applaud
    those of you who are so deeply spiritually involved (though you
    may not call it that) that you risk the retributions of a myopic
    society with your participation here in DEJAVU.  I hope you all
    can continue for as long as you are interested and that the reality
    continues to allow, if not directly support, these activities.
    I continue to learn by my participation here, and for this I am
    very grateful to the time I have spent with Digital.  I hope to
    continue to be involved for some time to come...

    I was raised with an extremely strict fundamentalist religion -
    actually several, since one grandmother was an Assembly of God,
    one grandmother was a Morman and my mother went to a church founded
    by Herbert W. Armstrong (Plain Truth magazine, etc.).  I have seen
    a great deal of discord centered around who has the correct
    interpretation of a small string of words (any verse out of the
    Bible).  I have also seen a lot of pain and suffering justified
    by various interpretations of the Bible: my father physically abused
    my mother on a regular basis and then both he and she explained
    to us children that wives are suppose to submit to their husbands!
     Of course, this served to fill me with more than disdain for organized
    religion and its books.  When I was about 15, I experienced my first
    conscious contact with my higher power (in this lifetime).  That
    was a lonely and confused young girl taking a walk along a riverbank.
     This power did not feel at all like the harsh and cruel god of
    the old testament Bible.  It was a warm and loving and friendly
    presence.  Ten years of active alcholism served to separate me from
    that presence for the most part.  In 1985, I became sober and resumed
    my conscious contact with my higher power.  The last 3 years have
    been incredible!!
    
    I have been pursuing my spiritual growth through many different
    avenues - I may still be searching for my path but I also think
    I'm eclectic by nature.  I participate in several 12 step groups
    and I am a member of the Science of Mind church.  I don't go to
    church except on Christmas.  Maybe I'm not cut out for church. 
    I read a lot of "self-help" books.  I've read a couple of Schwinn's
    books, one by Ruth Montgomery and of course Shirley's "Out on a
    Limb".  
    
    I have been hypnotised once, had one past-life regression (it was
    a marvelous eye-opener!), my astrological chart done last September,
    and had Tarot read for me once (all my cards were upside down!).
     I have experienced the presence of others, had several ESP experiences
    until it is just part of life for me,and sighted a UFO once as a child.
     Oh, I also had a not so pleasant albeit brief brush with the Berkely
    Psychic Institute.
    
    Anyway, I will share more in the other files.  Thanks to all of

    Cindy Painter pointed me at this file some time back and I've
    been enjoying it as a reader.  I am interested in learning about

I've always been fascinated by the mystic qualities certain problems become 
characterized with once those problems begin to move outside the rhelm of the
the known and into the rhelm of the unknown. An example of this would be some
mathematics problems in physics, like the convenient little intrinsic trait
that any mathematical laws which are applied to the Universe curiously break 
down at the border of the known and the unknown. We don't know if the Universe
is an open space or a closed space as defined by the rules of set theory, 
because we don't know if the human psyche itself is bound or unbound by *any* 
rules.
	This is true in any field, and it seems simple enough, but still, 
society chooses to maintain that we can control those limits. HAH!

    I had my first psychic experience when I was 11.  I "remembered"
    living in an old farm house in Idaho.  It had been converted
    into a gas station/convenience store and my family had stopped
    there while on vacation.  
    
    Since then I've had numerous psychic flashes that come upon me
    unawares.  I worked regularly on a Ouija board with my Mom until
    I was told to take my hands off and stop using the board.  For
    a few years I gave psychic readings to friends but began to doubt
    the information that was coming to me.  (Not because of any verifi-
    cation problems.  I just felt uneasy.)  SO...I studied the Tarot
    with a mentor and began to use them in my readings for grounding/
    verification.  Since then I've been giving Tarot readings and 
    feel pretty comfortable with my abilities.
    
    I'm also very involved with the Science of Mind Church.  I believe
    that I can create my own reality and am trying to prove it to

    I've been reading various notes files for about two years, but just
    started with this one in the past few months.  I wish I would have
    found y'all sooner.  This is easily the best!
    
    I've always been interested in learning about things I don't know
    much about.  Although I do believe Astrology, Tarot, ESP, etc...,
    I don't know much about these things, or it they are "right' for
    me.
    
    I do believe in the "light" (God?, Godess?, the force (-: ?), and
    that it's power is and has always been within me, to protect, and
    guide me.  I'm suprised it never lost patience with me - it sure 
    took me along time to listen, and welcome it, instead of trying to
    bury and ignore it, and in all that time it still protected me. 
    
    I believe that dreams play a significant part in our lives, I'm
    not sure of the how or why at this point - but I know they do. 
    I had a neat dream last night that I know that will be important
    at some point in my life, but not for a while.

       My primary interests are hypnosis, channeling, UFO's and

    Since I've been reading notes for about three years now, I guess
    I should get out of the shyness shade and declare myself as a DEJAVU
    noter.  My name is Steve and I'm a temporary worker here (as I part
    time with school).  I am fascinated with parapsychology and would
    like to design it as a major.  I find all reports and unusual
    occurences to be amazing, but am a slight skeptic (being raised
    with scientist (nuclear physicist, chemist, dentist (science?) and
    biologist) blood).  My node, location, and group are pretty much
    worthless - as they change very often (being a temporary worker
    here), but until the end of August they're stable.  Anyway, just
    wanted to say a hearty "Hello" and hope that someday I'll get to
    meet all of you either in this time, or some other...

    My name is George Withers.  I work over in Tewksbury as a software
    engineer.  I have always had an interest in paranormal events. 
    I still have a letter from the Coast Gaurd from when, in sixth grade,
    I came up with a very science-fiction explanation for the Bermuda
    Triangle and, with my teacher's help sent it to Florida.
    
    Anyway, I believe somethings and tend to base my belief on either
    feelings or evidence.  The only problem with the latter is credibility
    of the source.  But I have done minimal investigations (I used to
    be a library/media worker and more than half of a "ghost hunt" is
    research on the past of the locale.  And have had experiences, but
    not to the degree of others I've read here.
    
    In conclusion, I want to (corny though it may sound) thank you people
    for sharing your experiences and knowledge here.  If anyone is looking
    into something events or such--I have a yearning for the final proving
    to myself of hauntings and such.  The actual seeing-is-believing
    aspect.

    I have been intrested in paraphysics and related phenomena for some
    time, now. All the participators seem to be very knowledgeable in
    these matters and it makes for a great reading. I, for my sins,
    have had the priviledge of possessing some fragmented knowledge
    on an extremely intermittent basis.
    
    Anyway, one thing that I would love to see is this type of interest
    flourishing in the mainland UK esp. where I live at the moment.
    
    I have a very open mind and try very hard not to intellectualise
    on tha paraworld. Additionally, I have tried various forms of

Hi folks,

I'm a new hire (2 months).  I'm from the island of Kauai in Hawaii and 
have also lived in Birmingham, Alabama; Silver Spring, Maryland; and 
Boulder, Colorado.

Brief stats:
- Grew up in a very metaphysical environment, with my entire family (4 
  of us) being involved.  

- Intense involvement with meditation for 16 years.

- Intense study (same 16 years) of some of the more esoteric sciences 
  such as rays, initiations, and the esoteric side of astrology and 
  psychology.

- Vegetarian for 15 years.

- Age 31 with Virgo sun, Pisces ascendant, Libra moon for the 
  astrologically curious.

- Have, to varying degrees, had experience with the following 
  metaphysical sciences: cards, palmistry, past life readings, 
  numerology, dream interpretation, hypnosis, auras, and more, plus 
  every kind of class/course/seminar you can imagine (well almost). 
  For years our home on Kauai was the "home base" for teachers visiting
  the island who were giving classes, seminars, etc.

In my late teens and early twenties I was increasingly becoming aware of 
knowledge which I knew inside, but which I had had no exposure to in 
this life.  Meditation is an example.  I found myself overflowing with 
techniques when I had not been exposed to any formal meditation 
teaching; not just a free flow of ideas, but esoterically scientific 
techniques which have proven effective over time.  Much of the initial 
stimulous was triggered from the metaphysical type of exposure mentioned
above.  I had a strong desire to know everything and teach everything.  

After a while, and with the help of a couple of very special teachers, I 
realised the need to let go of my somewhat-less-than-humble attitudes.  
From that point, I quit all teaching, with a few rare exceptions; quit 
pursuing the metaphysical sciences mentioned above, and opted to 
"internalize" the knowledge that already existed and was continuing to 
develop.  The "outside" study was narrowed to the more esoteric sciences 
mentioned earlier... and on it goes.

My participation here has been primarily one of observation, and will 
continue to be so.  I have though, and will continue, to participate 
occasionally depending on the topic.  More, though, I simply enjoy 
observing the interaction...except when it gets down to 
intellectualizing and arguing about beliefs rather than sharing 
experience/knowledge.

Hopefully I am not giving the impression that I really love to talk 
about myself... quite the opposite is true.  As Frederick said in 
his reply (paraphrasing), "information on my background will not add to 
anyones growth..."   I am, however, very interested in people's
background and interests... it provides a context for understanding a 
person's conversation in the conference.  Last night I went through the 
entire 226 replies to this note and was disappointed in the lack of 
detail in places where there could have been much more.  I can tell 
from some of the replies throughout the conference that there are a few 
out there with fairly extensive backgrounds... but if they had all been 
as long as this one, I guess I would have been in trouble...:-)

    I was pleased to find this conference, I find the subject fascinating.
    My humble opinion of the paranormal is that it is just another aspect
    of nature, one that we don't fully understand.(yet?) I also believe
    that our brains, with large areas so far unmapped, hold the key.
    I consider myself to be pretty level headed and not easily fooled,
    but I am sure there is a lot we have yet to learn. Things have happened
    to me that prevent me from dismissing the subject out of hand.

I'm a tech writer in Marlboro (MRO4). I've been interested in 
metaphysical/spiritual/mystical things on and off for about 9 years 
(since I was a freshman in college). I tend to believe things very 
easily that other people have trouble accepting - maybe its because 
I'm predisposed to this in this lifetime due to past lifetimes. Often 
I'll hear or read something that I just know is true (perhaps its 
being in touch with my inner self). I also had some metaphysical 
experiences/thoughts in college which probably contribute to this.

I really like the idea of this file!

My other interests include reading and attempting to write literature 
(contempory fiction - not mainstream stuff but more best of anthology 
type stuff), new music (like 'The Smiths' etc.), outdoor stuff

Hi There, 

I just started reading this notesfile.  My interests are varied 
mystical ones -- from "sortof" "traditional" Zen, Tantric
Buddhism and Hinduism to western mysticism a la Don Juan and lots of 
other stuff.

I'm interested in meeting and socializing with metaphysical types.  
I'd be up for adventures and such -- sadly, I missed the recent 
party.  If anyone wants company for lectures, meditations, etc., 
I'd like that.    

I work in Boxboro.  I'd love to hear from anyone for correspondence, 
lunch or whatever.

	Hi! My name is Pete Henrikson and I work at HLO as a Tech. in the 
Product Eng. group.

	I've been reading this conference for several months, since Cindy 
introduced me to it. Since I've mad a few replies now, I thought it only proper 
to introduce myself.

	I've always been interested in many of the subjects discussed in this 
file such as astrology, psychic phenomenon, alternate realities, etc. I would 
love to get in on some of the discussions but, I find my powers of expression 
are severely lacking and my debating skills (friendly or otherwise) are nearly 
nonexistant. For now, I will continue to read these notes and be content that my
views are usually expressed by someone else eventually. Perhaps as I continue to
grow spiritually (I'm just beginning, actually), I will be more able to express 
myself.

    I am very interested in finding out ESP, psychic powers, dreams and related 
    topics.
    
    When I was a little kid, I used to have these weird dreams. I didn't
    know what they were until I started talking to my sister about them
    when I was in college. There is a big age gap between my sister and
    I, so I didn't start talking to her about a lot of things until then.
    My sister lives in California and she has quite a few friends that
    are "psychics". She took me to a psychic gathering once when I 
    visited with her, it was an eye opener. 
    
    My sister took courses on astrology charting and she does it for fun,
    not for money. I found out that she had these weird dreams, too.
    We would dream about  things that would happen a few days later.
    Well, I was all skeptical about it...One psychic told me that I
    have the power to communicate the other worlds...
    
    In the past 5 years, I was under a lot of stress and I didn't have
    any strange dreams at all. (Actually, I had a kid and I haven't had
    a good, undisturbed night of sleep for a long time).
    
    Now that my kid is a little older, I am trying to get in touch
    with my dreams again.  I missed those dreams, strangely...
    Now that I'm a lttle older myself, I am more open to new ideas.
    I realize now that life on earth is mighty short, and I hope to
    live up to my potentials.
    
    The dreams are just part of this big mystery. When I was 16,
    I was visiting a classmate at her house. There was this middle-aged
    lady who was my friend's parents' guest.  She told my friend that
    she wanted to talk to me. So, my friend and I, went out to lunch
    with this lady the following weekend, and she told me about my 
    family, my life and part of my future. It was scary!!! She was 100%
    right. I still don't know why she singled me out and told me about
    it. I wished I was more mature then to ask more questions.
    
    Oh, well. I am getting carried away...

    I believe any person has his own truth, given by various experiences

		Been skimming through this conference for a while
		now. A very interesting collection of notes if I
		may say so.

		My main interests are in Fortean Phenomena
		(mysterious animals, synchronocity, strange events,
		ghosts..etc) and the so-called 'Earth Mysteries'
		(ley-lines, terrestrial zodiacs, geomancy..etc)

		I subscribe to 'Fortean Times' which is published
		in England. I find this magazine covers its topics
		with a mixture of common sense and humour.		
		I used to subscribe to the 'Ley Hunter', but my
		sub lapsed when they changed address 3 times.

		I have quite a large collection of books on these
		subjects, so many that most of them are packed
		away in boxes in the attic.

		Can't really tell how many of you lot are from the
		UK. However, that doesn't really matter , does it.

    The origin of the Rom (commonly known in English as the Gypsies;
    which is considered by the Rom as a pejorative name, in part because
    of its association with the verb to gyp) is a bit obscure, but the
    linguistic evidence is very strong that they left northern India about
    1000AD and have been nomadic ever since.  As far as I know, there is not
    even a particularly large population of them in Italy (unlike, e.g.,
    Hungary).

    I'm in agreement. Gypsy is a contraction of (Lil') Egyptian.
    Supposedly, according to the stories tribes from India traveled through
    Egypt and assumed some of the cutoms of the then current Egyptians. I
    was also (very) haphazardly refering to Tuscan witches. I should have
    made it a (lil') clearer. Tuscan witches, (more correctly Etruscan
    pagans but whose counting), arrived in the area of Tuscany, Italy some
    1,000 BC probably from Greece. But then why should our friend go to
    another state to see a fortune teller or astrologer. I'm sure there are
    competent people in their hometown.
    
    But then again our Tuscan witchey friends aren't very talkitive, if
    even they are still around. Maybe they are now socialists. B^)

    
    Uh, uh, Topher, gli zingari (gipsies in Italian) are quite evident
    throughout Italy. They constitute a not inconsequential segment of 
    the population, perhaps no more peripatetic than the workers from 
    the southern provinces who travel northward (as far as Switzerland 
    and Germany) and back with some regularity.
    
    You're quite right about the ethnic origins of the Romany, but Mike's
    statement about witchcraft may allude to the origins of the interesting 
    mixture of 'gipsy' tradition and local folk belief that is to greater or 
    lesser degree a pervasive element of rural Italian life, particularly in 
    the south and on Sicily.

    My girlfriend is having a hard time dealing with the fact that she
    has a great deal of psychic ability, something she has been afraid
    of ever since she was a young girl.  She is now starting to deal
    with and understanding things much better.  
    
    She needs some people to talk to and support her in her quest for
    understanding.

    anyone who lives/works in Italy.  If you don't find anybody there, then
    just post a note at the end of that topic similar to the one you just
    entered in .-1 and wait to see if anyone responds.

    If an Italian DEJAVUer fails to appear, I would suggest your friend do
    the following:
    
    When she gets back to Italy, she should go to the nearest large public
    library.  She should ask for help from the librarians in finding
    Italian organizations and publications associated with those areas
    which she is interested in.
    
    She can then contact any organizations (she should watch out, however,
    for manipulative, exploitative "cults" -- which may not be ostensibly
    religious), and subscribe to any magazines which seem to fit.  Many
    magazines, especially small circulation magazines, will send a sample
    issue for free or for the cost of postage for examination.  Through the
    magazines she may learn of others of similar interests.

    I didn't realize that I hadn't registered in this file and identified
    myself, but it's Columbus Day, the day of discovery and the Day
    of Atonement for the Jewish people, so it seems like an appropriate
    time.  
    
    I had been trying to get into this file without success when I met
    Mary Stanley quite by accident!
    
    Anyway, I have been interested in psychic phenomenon, astrology,
    and New Age Spirituality for a long time.  I find myself very isolated
    in my own family, although my older son who is a financial analyst
    says he uses intuition all the time.  My children having been raised
    in the scientific age seem to feel that everything must be proved.
    I, too, grew up in a scientific age, but I had the advantage of
    having a mother who really believed in spiritual things.  She was
    very quiet about it, but it has become increasingly clear to me
    that she knew a lot and had a solid belief in things unseen and
    unprovable.  She has been dead for 24 years, now, and yet some of
    her casual predictive comments keep coming up as true even today.
    I'm not even sure if she knew she had this talent.
    
    I have been involved in several 12 step programs where spirituality
    is prevalent, and I feel real comfortable with that.  I always liked
    Taylor Caldwell and have read quite a bit of Cayce.  My favorite
    book is "Soul Mates" by Jesse Stern which I have just read over
    for the third time.
    
    I do believe in a global approach to life.  By that I mean that
    I think we need to take the best of all the philosophies, and various
    sciences.  For example, I am a Taurus with an Aries ascendant, but
    I am also divorced, a mother, very hyper, and have been emotionally
    abused and repressed, so that I have to deal with all these things
    and take them into account.
    
    I really do believe in predestination, reincarnation and astrological
    charts.  I discovered that I have a representative from each of
    the sun signs in my immediate family and/or extended family and
    close friends.

    Hi!  Thought I would make my entry into DEJAVU official finally.  Been
    a reader/participant for about 2 months or so.  I like it!  I've really
    enjoyed people offering their thoughts and experiences on different
    topics.  Really stirs a lot up inside.  Good stuff.  Don't always
    agree, and that's okay - it's all a dynamic flow of life nonetheless,
    and that's where I find my bliss... :-)
    
    Who am I?  Hmmm, well, an explorer and adventurer of sorts.  Kinda like 
    being unconventional, (probably due in part to Uranus in my 11th 
    house?).  Caution - my sense of humor is *very* dry - I even joke about
    the "D" word (death) from time to time.  Doesn't always go over too
    big.   
    
    Believe in reincarnation, UFO's, the Seth material, life after life,
    spirit communication and guidance.  Also feel that as a planet and
    humankind that we are in the midst of an incredible shift of
    consciousness that is moving to elevating us to a higher level of 
    spiritual understanding.  It is a very exciting time to be here!  I'm
    glad I choose this life and time of our history, and know it was for
    a purpose.
    
    I am drawn very strongly to healing.  Spiritual healing through the
    laying on of hands and I have been developing as a healing/counseling
    and evidential medium for about ten years now.  Recently have enjoyed
    working with crystals and the Native American Medicine Cards.  Also am
    exploring the use of art as a means of spirit communication with very
    interesting results.
    
    What I am interested in doing is taking all this neat *stuff* and
    applying it in the 3D world in practical ways to empower myself and
    hopefully to help empower others.  Also believe that the world has seen
    the Christ entity incarnated into many spiritual leaders, of which
    Jesus was one.  So I do not subscribe to any particular religious 
    persuasion.
    
    Currently I work in Enterprise Integration Services headquarter human
    resource group as an administrator doing mostly project management and
    have recently started an independent study degree program through Lesley
    College in human resource management and development.  Also am the
    editor of _Spirit of Change_, a quarterly holistic health/spirituality
    resource paper in the Central Mass./Boston suburbs area.

    My name is Pam Rickard and I am a software engineer in LKG working on 
    DECnet for OS/2.  I've been reading this notesfile for a couple of months 
    now and have enjoyed it, gained some interesting insights from it, have 
    been frustrated by it, and have learned from it.  I am interested in
    crystals and their healing properties (I am addicted to buying
    crystals), meditation (I practice Siddah Meditation),  channeling, 
    past lives, walkins, and many of the other topics I have stumbled across 
    as I read/new every day.  Perhaps one of these days I'll get up the nerve 
    to reply.  In the meantime I'll continue to learn and practice so that I'll 
    have something to say worth saying.
    
    I have noticed that whenever I need a break from my work I tend to read
    this notes file and find, for the most part, it is very relaxing and

I'm interested in Lucid Dreaming - I just wish I could have some more! 

    Hello my name is Jacqui Sanwell, I work in SWAS, Basingstoke, England
    as a unit secretary.  I am single, 25 years old with one son of
    4 years.  I started reading this notes file 2 weeks ago and can
    honestly say I am hooked.  I have always been interested in paranormal
    activites etc.  Partly due to my once having lived in a house with
    some odd activites, and partly due to more personal reasons.

    I've been reading DEJAVU since about last september.
    
    After reading a lot of the entries in this file I finally
    got the courage to make myself known as well.
    
    I've been interested in occult and paranormal matters ever since
    I can remember - probally also have been influeced by my mom who
    does quite a lot of palm-reading, astrological and other things
    like that.
    
    Every now and then I use what you seem to call a Ouja Board, though
    mine is not as professional as the ones you described (it's self
    made) and get a contact that seems to be my maternal grandma.
    
    It was DEJAVU which made me use Tarot-Cards (I've learned quite
    a lot till now and got some good results) and I also introduced
    my mom to it.
    
    The reason why these matters interest me so much is that I'm somehow
    searching ... for something to believe in, for understanding myself
    better ... And I want to learn as much as I can get into my brain
    (typicall 5,5,14 - Hierophant?)
    
    Anyway, I would like to thank you all for sharing your ideas
    and experiences with me - it's good to know that I'm not
    just a "curiosity" as some people tend to think.

  Hi. I'm an engineer whom you could classify as the typical hard-nosed,
  intolerant skeptic, though I have a healthy dose of confusion (several
  unexplainable personal experiences can't be reconciled with my strong
  faith in Science). I've followed DEJAVU erratically for about a year,
  and have learned something about what it means to be open and more
  tolerant, for which I'm grateful.

    Studied psychology and tried to pick up parapsychology, but it was
    to abstract and scientific. I'm to intuitive (yes, mr Jung) to jump
    into this.
    I did a lot of spiritism in the past. I am very interested in the
    phenomena discussed here. Hope I can contribute here and there.

I find some of the subjects in this notesfiles to be fascinating,
and for many of them, such as extraterrestrial life, etc., I have
definite sympathies (I have not had a close encounter of any kind,
but I cannot believe life does not exist on other planets, due to
the shere magnitude of the numbers involved.).

I guess my point of view is to keep an open mind, even about the

    Well, here I am in the "Who Are You?" note.  Next to me is my mondo
    20-page Fax that is currently being transmitted to Connecticut.
    
    Since our machine has a tendency to jam, I have to monitor the progress
    - so far, so good.
    
    Just wanted to say "Hello!" to everyone here.  I haven't been in
    this file for a couple weeks and wanted to see what was going on.
    Nice to see so much activity!  
    
    There is something I do notice, that I haven't noticed that often.
    As I sit here, with MRO's air conditioning blaring, the LCG01 printer
    next to me humming, the LN03 fan spinning, the VT320 screen emitting
    its characteristic high-pitch whine, and the fax machine slowly
    (and I mean SLOWLY!) eating through my transmission document, I
    realize - I'm lonely!
    
    Help me out of this Friday night, 5:30pm predicament!  I feel as
    if I'm the only one left in the world, let alone this floor.  
    
    What a strange feeling.

    I fullheartedly aggree with Suz (.357). First thing in the morning,
    it's login, <"notes">, <"open dejavu">, <Enter>, <Enter>, <Enter>...
    (Smile, chuckle), <Enter>. That's my cuppa coffee in the morning.
    Other conferences, step aside!
    I am interested in things that cannot be grasped or explained, for they
    seem to give me satisfaction, fulfilment and mystery at the same time.
    My Dad once said "You're a dreamer, Paul." and I don't think he meant
    it as a compliment! But I'm glad he said it, because he has always seemed 
    to be right about everything!
    And when things happen that seem to originate in this non-graspable
    dreamworld and hit me right bang in my physical face, I begin to
    wonder...what is reality?  Are we all dreaming, or what!? Is my Dad
    really right about everything???
    Well I'm a student (in Madison, Wisconsin, come here to work one
    semester) but I must be sounding like a schoolboy if not a little kid.
    I'm entering this at around 4:47 a.m. for the folks in the U.S.

    Hi out there, I'm Craig. I figured it's about time to introduce
    myself, since it's been 6, 7 years while I've been replying and
    entering notes.
    
    I firmly believe that I am a spiritual being having a human experience.
    I do not belong to any religion. They have been created by man,
    not God, though they may say they were told by God to do it. My
    relationship with God is very personal. I love people. Regardless
    of sex, race, religion, humor style, whether or not thwey cvan
    spelll. I try to love everyone, but I'm human, and I keep on trying.
    I used to be an intellectual till I had a son. Now I talk in one
    syl a ble words. I am a Monty Python freak. My most favourite movie
    is a toss-up, AIRPLANE! and BROTHER SUN, SISTER MOON. I cried in
    both, but for different reasons! The most difficult thing I find,
    is not to judge people. It's sooo hard not to do. Sometimes,
    it is so automatic, but again, I'm human and I'll keep on trying.
    I am in the right place at the right time doing the right things.
    I believe in predestiny and I believe in free will. I will defend
    anyones right to say or do anything, without harming person,
    property or anything else alive. I beleive everything is of God
    and is God. When I am speaking to you, I am also speaking to
    God. I believe everyone, in their own reality, is  correct and
    they are doing the right thing, according to them.

Hello all,

I am (at least in this lifetime) Susan Walsh.  I live in sunny Southern 
California (sunny but a bit smoggy these days!).  I've known about this
conference for quite awhile (thanks to Cindy Painter) but I've never
participated...guess I just wasn't ready (but I sure am NOW).

I've been on an **INCREDIBLE** journey for the last year that has opened
my eyes, ears, chakras, etc. up to the Universe.  I finally feel free and 
understood.  I'm having fun with life now and I'm connecting with more and 
more people who think and feel the same way.  I never knew you all existed 
before (or if I did I judged you to be crazies...)!

I believe that we are all here for a purpose.  I believe that the human 
race is evolving into a higher conscienceness (by raising our vibrations), 
and that folks like those participating in this conference are leading the 
way (isn't it exciting?)!

Between the hours and 8:00 and 5:00 (approximately) I pretend to be an
Information System Specialist for Information Services.  But I'm beginning 
to believe that I'm really just here for the lessons and the fun of it all!
(I'm also working on just "BE-ING" and letting things flow...hence the
casual attitude about work).

I could go on and on...I'm sure I will at some point...but for now
I'm here in the present.....

Because Edgar Cayce said that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God,
I put my trust in Jesus for my eternal life (15 years ago).

I expect that I'll be mostly read-only.  We'll see if I have something to
offer on the various topics.

Over the past 20 years (I'm 33 now), I've done a lot of reading on many
of the subject discussed here particularly focusing on books which
describe Edgar Cayce's readings and "prophets" (not meant in a Biblical
sense) such as Jeanne Dixon.

I certainly believe that there is much super-natural activity that
goes on. 

Personally, I believe God wants me to work on loving and accepting others 
wherever they may be at.  I hope (and pray) that this will be my attitude
in this conference.

    I have been with DEC for 2 years, and have been reading on the "occult"
    for more than 20 years.  For most of that time (20 yrs) I've studied
    astrology and will soon be certified through the AFA.  I practice
    positive visualization and meditation, would like to work more on
    healing skills, and use various crystals for nearly everything.  My
    personal philosophy is Wiccan, although my mother was Christian and
    my sister was a Satanist.  (I try to be tolerant and open-minded and   
    learn from other religions, and have found that although the learning
    is easy, the tolerance is a bit harder to come by.  But I'm working on
    it.)  I'm interested in most of the topics discussed in Dejavu, and
    hope to learn a lot from all of you out there.
    
    I'm the mother of daughters, 19 and 8, and have a grandson, 18 mo.  I
    live in Phoenix, work in Tempe.  Read some science fiction, some
    fantasy, some mystery, dabble in all sorts of things (it's the one way
    I live up to my Gemini Sun), and except for people I see at work
    I am a hermit.  (It has been suggested that I'm a hermit *because* of
    the people I see at work, but I was this way before I came here.)

    Hi!  I'm Laura Steinhart.  I'm a tech writer in Littleton, Mass. with
    Telecomm. and Netw.  It's neat to be working in R&D after years in the
    field (New York City) and in education.
    
    My interest in things DEJAVU goes way back.  I've practiced Tarot for
    18 years (wow! that long? where'd the time go?) and can consciously
    create reality.  I have vivid, long, dreams and have at times
    participated in them consciously.  I love the Seth books, have read a
    number of them. 
    
    Lately, the war has put me into a thoughtful state.  Seems we jumped
    track to another reality back in January.  Feels like the connections
    were lost to our previous mass existence.  For better or worse (and
    certainly scary) we're in a brave new world.  Hope we can make things
    work out for the best, politically, economically, socially,
    environmentally.  I sense the rules and assumptions have changed and
    we're all relearning.  Wave goodbye to that other existence, and if it
    goes on in another plane, I wish those selves well.  May G-d bless us
    for we have enter a fierce time of great pain, and a lot of bitterness
    is surfacing in the Middle East and elsewhere.  I hope that the
    expressions of bitterness, resentment, and suppressed desires lead to a
    happier time for humanity.

I'v been mainly a read-only participant in this notes file for the
past year.  As I'v picked up alot of info and views during this
year, I now feel that I will be entering more queries/replies in
the future.....hence the late introduction.

My background begins with an uncompleted Engineering training which
was based and helped further a very mechanised/critical view of the
world.  This was later followed by a 4 year training in psychology,
which opened up whole new ways of looking at life, people's behaviour,
why they have particular needs, and sometimes why they have particular
views.  That was later followed by a short training in S/W development,
in which area I'v now been working 4 years.

During the past 2 years I'v been addressing areas which formerly I
missed, didn't see, or simply would dismiss.  All in all, moving 
away from the mechanistic/critical way of thinking to a more
intuitive/suspended-conclusional approach.

My hobbies/interests include
Wind surfing, snorkeling, swimming, horse riding, snooker, reading,
reading Tarot (past 4 months), shamanism, socialising (in Ireland that
means going to pubs and meeting new people), dream journalling.

My view of the world is that 'we are all animals running around on
this planet.....and that our biggest mistake is that we think we know
whats going on..'.  Having said that, I also feel that we should endeavour
to discover what is going on by what ever means we can.

The openess of both the communications and thinking styles of most of
the participants here is something not so widespread in Ireland.  However,
despite sometimes thinking that some noters appear to believe anything
non-critically and leave themselves open to exploitation, in general
I'm very impressed by the caring attitudes and wide knowledge shown.

I'v just read 1034 on walk-ins!!!!!  Is this for real?  I'v never heard
of anything like this before, but would love to meet a walk-in to
ask them more about what they believe.

few notes in the near future.

    Hi, I'm Lynn!  I have a confession to make.  I've been an avid reader
    of this notesfile for close to three years now (have participated very
    little), and would like to introduce myself.  Sorry for taking so
    long!
    
    I work as a Personnel Assistant for Corporate Purchasing Education and
    Development, but am only "passing through" as I work towards my masters
    in Counseling Psychology.  Eventually I plan to pursue a Doctor of
    Psychology degree and specialize in Marital and Family Therapy and
    Music Therapy.
    
    I love to sing and have done so for most of my life (I'm 26).  I sing
    at weddings and have done a few amateur recordings, but would like to
    become more serious with my art.
    
    I just recently married a super, fantastic, fun, wonderful, loving man
    whom I went to college with!  Talk about being happy!  Joy of joys!!!!
    
    I am curious and fascinated by the spiritual world, other dimensions,
    telepathy, etc.  By reading these notes, I've discovered that I have
    had the experience of lucid dreaming.  It happens quite often for me,
    and I can pretty much trace it back to a time when I was dreaming
    consistently of very evil spirits (including the devil) invading my
    dreams.  I wanted so badly to force them out of my dreams (the
    experiences seemed so real) that I knew I had to take control of what
    occurred in my dreams to the point of telling myself that I was
    dreaming.  It was then my choice to either wake up or confront the
    being in the dream.  
    
    Otherwise, I'm not sure what kind of abilities I have, but would love
    to explore them.

	So, now, here I am. To me, the psychic phenomena is natural

    	I've been dipping into this conference for quite a while. Very
    interesting! I reckon there is definately something there. The
    currently accepted "scientific" "rational" viewpoint of reality I
    find very simpistic and quite strained. A lot of the stuff in here
    gives some clues as to what is missing. "Physical reality" as currently
    accepted and "phsycic reality" are, I believe, the same thing. It is
    the view of physical reality that is going to have to change. I got
    into this subject by way of Buddhism, which has a well developed
    integrated view of the way things are, which I was very impressed with.
    
    	Things I have a lot of trouble with are astrology, crystals, ritual
    magic etc. Basically anything that requires that you accept a highly 
    developed, complicated and arbitrary
    belief system. There is probably something at the bottem of it, but the
    complexity is added on top and in a way masks what is going on. Perhaps
    the complexity is needed to get you into the right state of mind for it
    to work?
    
    	My personal experience of psychic phenomena? Virtually nil!

    I think it is time to update my introduction to this note file.  My

    sons.  They have moved also.  
    
    I am now at Shrewsbury, started Jan.2, 1991.  It was by the skin of my
    teeth that I was offered this job on the day that I was to give my

    the moment, but the bldg. just had some lay-offs.

    I have been reading for probably a month now. I just started to write.
    Frankly some areas of this file scare me with my Catholic upbringing
    but that's another topic. I have done a lot of work in my recovery from
    first panic attacks and then from codependency. This led me into
    nutrition, then holistic health, then herbs, then spirtuality, then
    eastern mysticism, then Carlos Castaneda, and shaminsm. That is what's
    fascinating me lately. I have become fascinated with Carlos's books

    Oh well I suppose that I better write something in here as the lack of
    knowledge has been causing some erroneous assumptions about me.

    So far you know that I am pushing 50 years old, 99.5% male, gay, and a
    Scot. Hmmm. What else do you need to know.

    I live in Amsterdam, capitol of the Netherlands, and work in our
    Utrecht head office. For my entire working life I have been in
    maintenance, first in telecommunications and for the last 30 computers.
    Transistors and I entered the world of computers at about the same
    time.

    I have lived in Amsterdam since 1974 with my lover, Harry. Harry is
    English and a pathologist. We have completely different personalities.
    He has no interest in anything technical but has a talent for languages
    that I totally lack.

    I, as you may have noticed, have a sense of humour and I should warn
    you that I haven't used a smiley in years.

    Being an engineer I like to know how things work. I am completely
    incapable of any act of blind faith, and so I have no religion.

    For the last four years I have been completely addicted to notes.

    in the 1600's and settled in upstate New York (my family name is
    Vroman).  About 6 years ago, a fellow from DEC Holland was working at
    GIA HQ and we got to be good friends.  He taught me some Dutch.  Then I
    visited him and his family in Holland a few years later.

    Hi, my name is Les, a contractor with about a month to go
    down here in Washington, DC.  I've been reading the notes
    file when I get a chance the last couple of days.
    
    My primary interest in the spiritual realm is in the area
    of of out-of-body experiences, having experienced about
    30 that I can remember in the last ten years.  They seem
    to come and go in bunches --- five or so in a week then
    become dormant for awhile.
    
    My last episodes were in January when lying in bed, I kept
    popping out and couldn't stay in.  After 4 times, it stopped.
    My first experience with the OOBE ten years was when I laid
    in North-to-South position and managed to exit as my extremeties
    and then the body began vibrating.
    
    The most odd experience that I had while experimenting was the
    one episode where I went to sleep thinking "What is the Truth?".
    When I "awoke", I found myselft out of the body in another
    plane or dimension or something where I was being led down a dark
    "tunnel" or "hallway" by two strong non-physical beings with the
    thought "...so you want to know the truth".  Ahead lie a room or
    open area which is glowing with light, I "knew" or the thought
    was impressed on me that I had to get back.  And I found myself
    hurtling back to the physical --- through the ceiling and into
    the body.  I have "awoke" a couple other times to find myself
    "running" through ceilings and walls back to the body away from
    "things".
    
    I had always wondered whether the "room" was heaven, hell, purgatory...
    Whether the beings were angels, devils, psychic case workers,
    whatever..
    
    I had thought of entering the above in a topic but that the event
    covered a number of areas --- such as OOBE, HEAVEN/HELL/PURGATORY,
    whether the spiritual realm is basically GOOD/EVIL/NEUTRAL...,
    ANGELS/DEMONS,  The experience and my description also reflects
    my non-Christian background.  I would be interested in what your
    participants can tell me about the above.

    I started reading this file a few months ago and find it very
    interesting.  I am interested in alot of psychic phenomenum(sp?)
    
    I started reading Tartot at 16 read lots of stuff on Witchcraft around
    the same age.  Never experimented though.  My mother is a Psychic
    and a pretty good one at that.  (Unfortunatley for me sometimes ;^) )
    
    Now I am mainly interested in Spiritual Growth and work on Co-dependant 
    issues in other notes files.
    
    Latley I have picked up 2 new things that I am pretty interested in. 
    One is the Rune Cards and the other is the Sacred Path Cards.  I like
    these because they arent necessarly for predicting the future but for
    gaining insight into yourself.  Has anyone here worked with either of
    them??  If so I would really like to get your insight into these two
    mediums.  I only got them a few weeks ago and havent done too much with
    them!!

    I am new to this conference and have really enjoyed reading it!
    I am a dreamer!  I have had many dreams that have given me answers
    or shown me what path to take when trying to make difficult decisions.
    I have also dreamt of places I have never been to one day actually
    visit them.  I also read Tartot cards. Mostly for fun.....but alot of
    readings I have done for family and friends have happened.  
      
    Brainwaves are another big part of my life.  Many times I have sensed
    uneasiness, happiness, fears, love and pain with others and have called
    or ran into them to find these feelings were correct.  Some many many
    miles away.

    I hope to correspond in this file and look forward to sharing many of
    my experiences and reading many of yours as well!

    haunted house, I was glad to find out I'm not the only one out there

    gee".  I find that particular file VERY interesting but have been too
    much of a chicken to try it out at home.  I have a feeling it would

    so beautiful, I'm quite fond of my husband (who's Greek), and
    Greek mythology is much more enjoyable to me than the religious

    I'm making this a goodbye note too, because I'm poor at navigating

    This conference was introduced to me by Cindy Painter some 7 months
    back, and I've been a somewhat active writer since then (except for
    a 2-3 month gap). I'm not a psychic or mystic, and heard of things 
    like Tarot and ideas like "Create Your Own Reality" for the first
    time here. (I still haven't figured out why they spell magic as 'magick'

    As I drop out, I must say that its been a great bunch of guys here, and

    Hi, I'm Pat and have been reading this notes file for about three
    years, ever since I joined DEC actually.  I am really interested in
    this stuff and feel that I'm kind of psychic (dream things that are
    apt to come true, feel things before they happen) but have never really
    developed it.  My sign is Scorpio and I'm about to start an astrology
    course but notice that you don't all seem to take astrology as
    seriously as I thought you would in this kind of file.  I have some
    doubts myself which is partly the reason for taking the course.

    Dougie Nisbet, based in Welwyn Garden City. A 28 year old Scot with
    mixed up education and career history. 

    Went to Brighton Poly on the South coast of England to get a Computer
    Studies degree to tidy things up. Mixed it with Basingstoke for a year.
    Now married and living in North London.

    I never want to say "Came to London for a couple of years, stayed for
    fifteen!", and am making all efforts to get out of this Godforsaken
    place. Then I can go home and become a Xenophobic Scot, and spend the
    rest of my days writing angry letters to the Scotsman.

    Interested in the paranormal, but find most of it difficult to believe.

    However, lately I have been "living on the edge" and have entered in
    some replies...I liked throwing out my ideas and I liked seeing what
    came back.  I realized that this is a safe forum, people are open to
    different opinions and won't criticize or mock you like some other
    conferences.  So, I'm now going off the edge and making myself an
    official dejavu noter....

    I don't know how to list my interests.  Ever since Psychology 101 in
    college where I learned we use only 3% of our brain, I have been
    fascinated by the other 98%.  Any topic that touches on how to tap into
    that part of the brain: dreaming, psyhic phenomenon, hypnosis, etc
    interests me.  The more I learn, the more I question the conventional
    and conservative way of thinking....even religion.  Its weird to be
    going through this after you have been conditioned so long on certain

    I think it is about time that I pop in an introduction to this

    after 4 years ;'). My name is Lynne Sigel, I am 29 years old (and

    little here since I know very little on this subject. 
    
    Many years ago I enjoyed reading something which might related to this 
    file, it is in book called "conversations with Einstein" by Alexander
    Moszkowski, each chapter on the book covers a different area that
    the discussion covered, there is one chapter called "Of different
    Worlds".

My name is Linda Lilburne - currently working as a software contractor
in Christchurch, New Zealand. Been here 7 months, heve been reading this
conference for several months. There's been a lot of thought-provoking 
notes that have helped me along with my search. I am only just beginning
on my path so haven't much to add to what has been said so eloquently by

    Hello everyone,
    
    On a very autumnal afternoon......
    
    Born of Italian parents, raised in Australia, lived in UK since age 15,
    travelled extensively throughout the world, lived here, there and alot
    inbetween.
    
    Since I was small I have "flown" and since about 13 have had constant
    dejavu, visitations, sightings, wierd experiences etc.  It is only
    through reading through this file that I have been aware that these
    things are "paranormal".  I"ve always been aware of something else, but
    now have started to look for what it all leads to and what it ll means.
    
    I have started meditation to see if I can have some control over these
    things; am currently studying a little about crystals; and am suddenly
    more aware of the energies that surround us all.
    
    Being able to communicate with all of you is wonderful....knowing I'm
    not alone banishes alot of the fears.

    Fabio Cenci from Roma. I'll be mainly a reader as I have
    (unfortunately) little time to devote to writing (and my English could
    be misunderstood!). I must confess my being quite skeptical, though
    quite curious -- like most human beings I gather -- about life after
    death experiences. I usually don't play "hard to convince" but, you
    know, I studied Physics and ... well.. brain-washing is common practice
    when you study those things. You may well be the most open-minded
    person on earth, but it's "normal" to me to say: until I don't live
    that experience I cannot believe... I'm suspicious of whoever believes
    in everything without having doubts or putting questions: my country-
    fellows use to call them "the flying-donkey believers".
    
    But I want to open up my mind to whatever I cannot touch, see, hear.

    God Gracious Jamie, do you understand my language? That's horrible news
    for me, as I terribly enjoyed myself using the stupidest personal names
    on earth :-) 
    Anyway, even if I'm neither fat nor a big eater , I feel dopey whenever I 
    eat Toblerone stuff. I'll become diabetic sooner or later.
    
    I'll use Finnish personal names from now on, and I'll be on the lookout !! 
    
    I'm reading the first notes and I'm discovering a completely new world.
    
    By the way, I've always been eager to know something about the Tibetan
    culture. Has anyone of you ever been there? I'd like to go next year. An
    Italian writer (Alberto Bevilacqua) wrote a very interesting book about
    his ESP experience: a Tibetan monk had him see himself in his cradle,
    sort of "visual flash-back". When he came back he asked his mother
    what his cradle looked like, the size of his room, etc. and everything
    coincided! He's known as an honest man, and he seemed to be struck when
    he remembered it.
    I know it's quite difficult to organize a travel to such a remote place
    these times, but I think it's well worth it. My "westernized" frame of
    mind might receive a positive shock.

    I know the trip would be quite awesome, but it's the sort of things you
    can do only once in your life, as you need be in good physical shape,
    etc. There's a lot of time (I hope!) for holidays a la Club
    Mediterranee!
    I was told that the transportation system is appalling; that it's quite
    impossible to find warm drinks (you have to drink lots of water over
    there) with the exception of Lhasa; that the Chinese Tourist Authority
    would rather kill Tibetans than foster tourism, etc., but I think that
    a trip there would be worth while. Of course I must be sure to go with
    the right people (no Hiltons or Holiday Inns available!)

    Sad but true, millions of Tibitants were killed and tortured.
    when I was there I noticed that there were many military check
    points throughout out Lhasa. On a busy street corner it is not
    unusual to see soldiers holding automatic weapons standing on
    the roof of tallest building.
    
    

    Why do the Chinese want Tibet?  Do you have any theories?
    
    Is it a question of too much military with too little to do?

    been breathing air for more than 2 and 1/2 Earth orbits around our
    star.  

    I am a writer by profession, and am currently in the process of
    creating a workbook to accompany Dr. Michael Ryce's "Why Is This
    Happening to Me...Again?" seminar.  

    I've enjoyed the dialog in this conference.  I'm taking a leave of
    absence to finish the first draft of the workbook and will probably not
    participate in this conference for 4-5 weeks.
