As far as I know, DEC COBOL does'nt support any directive to switch to big-endian for binary values, MICROFOCUS does Is there any plan to support big endian with DEC COBOL ? thanks Flavie

There are no current plans to support big endian binary data as a
numeric type with DEC COBOL. Contact the product manager (Tariq Nazeer
- TEAMLK::NAZEER) and give him details about any customer you have
that might use DEC COBOL if it had big endian binary data support.
